Does anyone here know what happened to the VanHool/ Volvo B58 demonstrator coach which Briscoes operated in the 1980's?

It became either a camper or transporter of some sort.

This was a really good looking coach - I drove it a few times when I worked for Briscoes. It had (from memory) an Allison Auto Transmission, unusual for a Volvo B58.
It was really not up to our hot climate - I was once driving it through the Adelaide Hills on a well loaded Schutzenfest service (to Hahndorf) and it totally overheated, so I turned off thr aircon and stopped the coach with it idling to try and cool the engine and that is when those beautiful large windows made their presence felt - it was like an oven in there. A replacement coach was callled and took on my passengers.

I am not sure who we sold it to - sorry about this.

Sounds likes you had a great day Tim!

In a similar vain I remember passing a Fuji artic on the south eastern freeway and decided to pull up and grab a photo, after a long wait only 1km after I passed it, the driver had pulled up and was waiting for the engine to cool down, after some delay I had my photograph.

Does anyone have pictures of this unusual vehicle?

The coach was featured in Truck & Bus magazine around 1980.The rear axle had the European trend of being able to steer at low speeds.

Murrays had 3 B58/Starliners in the early 80s. Two had Wilson mono-control boxes and the third had an Allison.
