Photo Request - Ritchies #640?
Given that Australia's restarted their double-decker program with the Bustech CDi, I found news that New Zealand has followed suit. On the Sixth of March this year, Ritchies unveiled their new beauty. Delivered from Malaysia, Ritchies are trialing a new Scania K320UD6 with an NCBC/Gemilang body on their Northern Express (Britomart to Albany) route.
I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of this vehicle?
Thanks,

It's a K320UD6 (K310 is not Euro 5 compliant). But no I don't have any photos. There's plenty of the web, particularly from the launch day that you'll find by searching.

Something I dont understand at all, is NZ have lower GVM then us, but they can have Scania, and ADL Enviro 500 conventional double decker while in Australia we can only have Bustech CDi with weird looking twin steer instead

What about the Denning deckers that are running around and the Enviro 500 fitted with the Kiwi body that Rockleigh Tours has? And the Ankai deckers that are starting to appear around the country? They're all conventional setups as far as I'm concerned.
Isn't one of the reasons the ADL Enviro500 integral isn't sold/allowed in Australia is that it's too wide for our roads? Along with many other european built integral buses...
Thanks,

The Enviro 500 at Rockleigh is not allowed to have standee
and this is what I've found on Busvic 2013 video. look like they are bringing in the NZ narrow version for NSW

I think that's the Enviro200(/300?) demonstrator that's been running around for a while.
Given that Alexander Dennis now owns Custom Coaches, could it be possible for them to introduce a modified Enviro range to cater for the Australian market?
Thanks,

Re: Photo Request - Ritchies #640?
Why do they need to? The Enviro 200 is already suitable and in particular has been purchased in large quantities in NZ. There just hasn't been a real push for their products just yet (apart from the fact that alot of large Australian bus operators don't favour midi buses too much compared to full size conventional ones but could be suited to smaller country operators. The Sydney Bus Show might be interesting though as I suspect there'll be a few other newcomers into the market.

Well it'll be interesting to see if a TNSW livery Enviro 400 (look to left of that Enviro 200) appears at the bus show. Here's a report on another newcomer being shown at the Sydney bus show, the Bluebird Orion Plus: http://www.busnews.com.au/news/articleid/84760.aspx

Looks like there'll be competition with Optare who are also planning to launch the Solo SR and Tempo SR models very shortly in Australia either as full complete exports or in kit form. Be interesting if they appear at the Bus Show.
