How many times can you visit somewhere???? Twice. Once to drive something & the second to give the cheque for the damages...
Didn't you get the memo? If it aint built by designline DON'T BREAK IT!
Hey in your second photo, is that the old Lyxury Landliner I see hidden in the background?

Nice pics, do you have a link to their web site if they have one?
Also how often do they operate and how many buses can be out on these operating days?

I had a drive of a tb there in 1996 and I must say that Ian Little was very obliging, if not somewhat abrasive. He must be in his late 80s by this.

This Leyland Leopard 408. Has a bit of an interesting Recent history.
The Body is indeed from Wellington 408. But the chassis & running gear were Stuffed when Sold by Stagecoach to Ian Little. While at the time of purchase he had in his Fleet Dunedin City Transport Leyland's 177 & 179.
177 had a fairly buggered body but Excellent Chassis & Running gear. So if you get my drift here. this bus is actually the Body of WCT 408 married onto the Chassis of DCT 177.
Wierd but true. But here are photos of the two buses that became Foxton Leyland Leopard 408.

Thanks mmtranz2002
Trolley bus racer: I love the first photo so much, everything in this photo is in red or white colour, even the building and the fence!!!!! that's the colour for Wellington city buses, not the bloody yellow.

Looking at all the old photos of Wellington buses that have been posted here in the last 12 months or so, and having been to Wellington and seen the yellow splurge, I quite agree with you. Red or white (with some silver in my opinion) should be the colours in use, not yellow. A yellow bus makes no difference to the idiot who is oblivious to the world around him/her due to an in-depth conversation on a mobile phone that results in being hit and killed by a bus as happened in Wellington near the start of Lambton Quay, IIRC, on the morning of 22nd of May last year. I didnt get the newspaper that afternoon (I was in Wellington on my first visit ) but I do recall that the bus was a Diesel, and that at Trolley (238?) was stabled nearby for some reason, on the side of the road with the poles down.ka9102 wrote:Everything in this photo is in red or white colour, even the building and the fence!!!!! that's the colour for Wellington city buses, not the bloody yellow.
New website up and running, showing mostly trains and some trams.
