Spent a morning riding the buses in Darwin, a photo from Casuarina Interchange of 2 Volvo B10BLE'/Volgrens.
Next day was an "express" day from Darwin down to Timber Creek (on the Victoria Highway en route to Kununurra). I find the 130km/h signs very odd ... first time in the Territory where speed has been restricted.
Saw plenty of Greyhounds on my way there but it must be a sign of the times that for the first time in the Territory I didn't see a single Denning Landseer.
They must not be doing too badly - they still seem to be running plenty of services and most seemed to carry about a 50% load. Seen here outside Katherine Transit Centre is #667 heading to Darwin.
Of course no visit to this part of Australia is complete without seeing road trains ... and was lucky enough to snap one going at speed near the Victoria River crossing on the Victoria Highway - about 2 hours west of Katherine.
Another popular mode of transport up here is helicopter ... here at the Victoria River Motel you can fly in one of these dodgy looking choppers - VH-JWQ is a Kawasaki 47G3B-KH4 which was built in 1975 and operated by North Australian Helicopters - probably for surveying and cattle mustering work rather than as a mode of transport.
