New DARWIN bus route 14, 14a 1st day

Post by dave »

This is the first day of service for Route 14 in Darwin. In this picture you can see DBS 127 heading off from the Darwin Depot to Cullen Bay ferry terminal and back through the city to the Convention Centre at Stokes Hill wharf and then back to Darwin depot. This run is to connect to the Mandorah ferry several times a day at Cullen Bay ferry terminal.
The other Bus Service 14a which travels from the Darwin Depot to Bayview Haven, Tipperary waters marina and back through Frances Bay marina and on to the Convention Centre at Stokes Hill wharf and then back to the Darwin Depot.
They each take about 25 min. to travel depending on ferry being on time.
They have yet to put these in the desto computer to set the desto's.
If you want a timetable go to

That will be good when DBS programme the desto display for this new service. That Route 14 temporary sign inside of the windscreen is rather large! Wouldn't it's size affect the drivers vision in any way at all?

Bloody hard it seems, He's a new guy on the job and he know's f kall about what he's doing. You know public servents that know everything about nothing and been doin it for years and still got a job somewhere in government, you know and got away with it.come on,you must know someone in government down there like that.

Nice looking bus. Pitty I'm not up there to see the routes (about bloody time there was a bus route serving those areas). Makes me wonder why it took the Government so long...... oh thats right the Convention Centre (which the pollies claim that it's not built the wrong way *cough*) is now built.

Good pictures Dave, thanks for posting.

How come this bus doesn't have a chassis company logo on the front?

Didn't you read the posts immediately before yours? Dave, the only Darwin-based ATDB member, died last year...

I am still here, just not a very regular poster but.
Yes I did see the "Green Bus" as my kids called it. I have been keeping an eye out for it to get a few photo's, but I have not seen it since 130 entered service.

As for the chassis logo, none of the buses from 123 onwards have them.
