Reasonable to assume it hit something, or something hit it.. A fairly common occurrence when you consider the amount of kms the fleet does as a whole.EamonMBT wrote:Does anybody know what happened to S2068? I received a photo of 2068 with its front completely smashed. If you want to see it I am happy to show but I am not allowed to say who I got it from as it is one of my friends who may have gotten it either off a driver or someone else related to BT.

2068 I believe was involved in a head on collision on a 599 outside Sherwood depot at the bridge that crosses over the railway. Car crossed into the path of the bus.
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
There is no need to post pics of smashed up buses - it just gives enthusiasts a bad name with operators.

Would the damage inflicted on 2068 be repairable at all?

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
All I will say without leaking the picture is it looks very similar to T1203 when it was listed on Manheim Auction House last year and even worse than when T1244 crashed in 2012. I assume because it is newer than the MAN that it could be but I honestly don't know.TLK wrote:Would the damage inflicted on 2068 be repairable at all?
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
Also, I am going to assume that T2893 and T2894 might do their first services tomorrow. If one of them comes out on the 444 IB I will do everything to guarantee my spot on that bus.
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
Also with the Brisbane Transport Database (brisbanetransport.info) does anybody know how to submit photos there as I have quite a few pics of B8's and a lot of others that could use some changing as they are all from early 2010's?

Just send them the photos in the 'Contact Us' section, although I've tried multiple times and they seem to be pretty picky about accepting new photos.EamonMBT wrote:Also with the Brisbane Transport Database (brisbanetransport.info) does anybody know how to submit photos there as I have quite a few pics of B8's and a lot of others that could use some changing as they are all from early 2010's?

This is way off topic, sorry mods. I can't reply to your messages on this forum for some reason David. ETA for url is Tuesday.daveeyh wrote:gen man wrote: T2893 (rego XQ 56 KU) and T2894 (XQ 52 KU) at Toowong Depot Garage today.

V2341 was servicing route 200 to Carindale tonight.
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
T2873 (Mt Coot-tha Shuttle) just spotted doing Route 427 IB.
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
I noticed today that the new QUT buses simply have a desto of "QUT Shuttle" with no route number.

Is it possible to have some double-deckers?[/quote]Megumi wrote:Not every off-peak bus will be busy as, yes, it's off-peak (that can even be said in peak times too). But the Blue CityGlider is the 2nd highest patronage route in Brisbane sitting at just over 3 million trips last financial year (see link below). This figure has grown substantially year on year for the past 5 years and is expected to continually rise due to the sheer number of apartments going up on both sides of the route.
There are also times where there are off-peak gaps between services of 15, even 20 mins (due to late running buses) obviously meaning that the following service will be very busy from the backlog of people. It all just depends on how many people are out at any one time.
Also, when the Metro comes online in 2023 (hopefully), it will be spitting more people out at the Cultural Centre and KGS where people need to change onto the Blue CG who are travelling north-south down the city spine (Adelaide St) to places like the valley and blocks further north of Albert St. It is and will continue to be one of Brisbane's high profile routes and needs to have buses running on it with a high capacity and ability to turn over high numbers of people.

With the double-deckers, I did bring the idea to Graham Quirk when he was mayor and he came back with the same answers. Also, I did ask him about electric buses and he said that would definitely be something to consider in the far future as it was 2011 or 2012 when I asked.
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
I would assume it's so people don't think it's a normal route and try hail it down. In saying that, the newish stop in Kelvin Grove at Carraway St (which I now use) has a printed timetable with "391" as the route number and I haven't noticed any note saying this is for QUT students only. I would assume the other two stops are the same but I haven't had a closer look.daveeyh wrote:I noticed today that the new QUT buses simply have a desto of "QUT Shuttle" with no route number.

How many Scania's are left then? Dave, you seemed to have a list going somewhere. I saw 650 on a 590 today and 633? in service a few weeks back. Surely the last one to be retired isn't too far away with the number of B8's being pumped out of Eagle Farm.
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
Same seven Scanias that started the year - 626, 627, 630, 633. 646, 650 and 676.Cazza wrote:How many Scania's are left then? Dave, you seemed to have a list going somewhere. My "In Service" list is currently 1234 buses which is historically high so TfB isn't retiring buses at the same rate of new buses arriving at the moment.
