Re: Brisbane Transport - August 2015
Looks like there is no market for ex-BT buses at present - the same buses (Scanias, Lemons and Metroliners) have been listed on the Manheim site for the July auction, August auction and now the September auction.
Re: Brisbane Transport - August 2015
Would anyone be in the market for old CNG buses?
Re: Brisbane Transport - August 2015
Seen a tidy unnumbered metroliner on Tuesday morning heading north on the old gateway. New rego plates too so at least one has escaped.
Re: Brisbane Transport - August 2015
V2153 now has a white front desto, but the side and rear are still orange.
Re: Brisbane Transport - August 2015
V2202 (rego 543 VVF) parked at Volgren today.
Re: Brisbane Transport - August 2015
See R130 is for sale in a garden near morayfield!!
Seen another metroliner leaving manheims but had all the yellow painted white leaving the blue stripe last week.
Also seen 2202 at volgren today.

V2202 in service yesterday, also noted E2048 on a 599 great circle line.
Re: Brisbane Transport - August 2015
I was on V2200 today and noted that the "Evacuate Bus" sign, which are being retrofitted to Scanias and 18.310s, had been fitted.
I haven't noticed one on any other Optimus bus.

V2203 has an evacuate bus sign as well. Spotted it in service tonight on an outbound 330.

New rainbow bus
One of Brisbane's busiest buses has been decorated in rainbow colours to celebrate the Brisbane Pride Festival.
Brisbane City Council's public transport chairman Peter Matic said, from next week, Brisbane CityGlider users could well catch the distinctive rainbow bus on their commute.
"In a Brisbane-first, one of Brisbane City Council's CityGlider buses will be wrapped in a new rainbow coloured skin to acknowledge and celebrate the city's diversity," Cr Matic said.

Seen V2205 on Kingsfordsmith Drive presumed on a test run on Tuesday.
Seen at Eagle Farm were 3 scanias and a metroliner on Monday, today the 3 scanias have gone but the metroliner is still on site.

This week, every Toowong bus I have seen on the Great Circle Line has been a gas bus - up until now, diesel MAN were used almost exclusively (I believe because they had enough fuel to keep running all day).

Should be nicknamed the City Glitter.

By the end of the week, the diesels were back on the GCL.daveeyh wrote:This week, every Toowong bus I have seen on the Great Circle Line has been a gas bus - up until now, diesel MAN were used almost exclusively (I believe because they had enough fuel to keep running all day).

V725 on driver training from eagle farm today.

Looks like there might have been a few BT disposals sold at Manheim's September auction.daveeyh wrote:Looks like there is no market for ex-BT buses at present - the same buses (Scanias, Lemons and Metroliners) have been listed on the Manheim site for the July auction, August auction and now the September auction.
Before the September auction, there were 17 BT buses listed on the website for auction (10 Metroliners, 5 Lemons and 2 Scanias).
Today, there are only six of those buses left on the website (4 Metroliners and 2 Scanias) so I assume the other 11 were sold.
The two Scanias have been for sale for most of this year - this does not portend well for the other 200 Scanias that will be removed from service in the coming years.
Re: Brisbane Transport - August / September 2015
Spotted V2208 doing an inbound 325 this afternoon on Enoggera Road NEWMARKET.
Re: Brisbane Transport - August / September 2015
If anyone wants to see at least 30 scanias in a row, get to Riverfire as they have created a baracade along the river to stop traffic from stopping to watch it.

It may have looked like a deliberate barricade but they were required to hold there before moving into the City to hold up before starting shuttles, a similiar situation happens on New Years Eve.Skyblue1 wrote:If anyone wants to see at least 30 scanias in a row, get to Riverfire as they have created a baracade along the river to stop traffic from stopping to watch it.
