With withdrawals something of a mystery, could there be other scanias stored somewhere?? It's the same with Virginia, over sixty new buses delivered and a hand full of withdrawals.
There are no new routes, no increases in service so they have to be somewhere. Wish BT buses would update the website.

I have seen 634 a couple of times in the past couple of weeks and I rode it yesterday - very noisy bus so I am guessing it is only used when necessary.

Still haven't seen 659 or 696 on the road recently.[/quote]

Saw G659 yesterday - still yet to see G696.

Maybe the increase in Scanias at G is to increase the number of standard buses available at weekends so they don't need to have the long buses in service (as G are really the only depot to have B12s out on the weekend at present - C, S and W usually leave their B12s at home on weekends).

Dave, I thought the B12s would have been out in force at weekends with Christmas shopping on and kids away from school. I also think the increase may be to cover the B12s until the Xmas period is finished then we will see the scanias thinned out a bit. Do we know if the next order from BT is in place yet? I'm guessing GC will get the next new ones.

Only 719 is still listed on Menheims.

Has 687 finally been sold after being at Manheims for most of 2015?

Anyone know when more Scanias will find their way there?

I went past Manheims today and the only Scania that I could see was 719. There are a number of Metroliners though.

Have been looking at the list above versus the Scanias listed as withdrawn.

There are two more Scania units on the Manheim website in addition to those listed above:
685
778

There are two other Scanias listed as Withdrawn but are not on the Manheim website (already sold??):
700
748

Why are these being sold, they aren't particularly old? Have they gone off CNG?

They havn't just started to have problems, they've had them since they were a pup, just the same as the later breeds.
The Scanias have been very good in a lot of regards, however they do like a lot of tender love and care.
Its just time to share that love around.

Also helps to maintain the youngest bus fleet in the country status!

731, 762 and 805 were at Virginia on Monday but 805 has since vanished. There was also a scania being unloaded from a low loader at eagle farm on Monday.

Was told by a mechanic one day that some of the genuine Scania parts only last about 6 months.

Does anyone know whether any of the Scanias were sold at the Manheim auction yesterday?

The back lanes at Eagle Farm Depot are still full of Scanias so I would assume that very few, if any, were sold.

The only Scania that was on the Manheim list for March's auction was 719, a bus that has been at Manheims for about a year.

The back lanes at Eagle Farm still look to be full of Scanias - does this mean BT have withdrawn them from auction due to lack of interest?

At Virginia, 731, 805, 798 are parked up still, 805 now lost rego plates and 762 which was in the line reappeared being driven back into the line from the depot. I think 826 may be there too.
