Does anybody know at what age Translink requires/or would like a bus to be replaced under their route contracts?
A document I read for Q Connect says 18 years is a preferred replacement age, is it the same for translink?

TransLink's rules prevent any buses over the age of 25 years performing school/urban services.BusNut79 wrote:Does anybody know at what age Translink requires/or would like a bus to be replaced under their route contracts?

It's slightly different for your general kilometre/fares based school operators outside of the TransLink system, they can operate vehicles past 25 years, but only if they've had a life extension.

Isn't 25 years pretty much an Australian wide standard?

Some jurisdictions yes, but you just have to look at Tasmania and New South Wales who don't impose the same standards.Mitch wrote:Isn't 25 years pretty much an Australian wide standard?
