The two new bus stations in Belconnen opened for business on Monday 15 November 2010. The Belconnen Community Bus Station is located on the site of the former Belconnen Interchange. There have already been a few complaints by the elderly as the ramp access to the Labour Club has been removed & they are now forced to use the stairs. The Westfield (Belconnen) Bus Station is located at the intersection of Lathlain Street & Cohen Street. This bus station has a weird layout in that every bus route uses these 2. Buses leaving Westfield Bus Station to access to Cohen Street Bus Station have a bit of trouble in that when buses turn left onto Lathlain Street, they then have to wait to turn right onto Cohen Street. This could be fixed by tuning the 3 sets of traffic lights to give buses a clear way through.
Other then those few hiccups, the new bus stations look quite good & do give buses a quicker journey through Belconnen (which is always a good thing).
