ACTION and Various Coaches around the triangle

ACTION
Image
BUS-940 a Renault/MACK PR100.2mkII is seen turning from Parkes Way to Kings Ave after negotiating the Kings Ave/Parkes Way overpass roadworks. BUS-940 is fitted with Saydair Seating, and is the only PR100.2 to have Saydair seats.

Image
BUS-345 a Scania L94UB CNG is seen on an Intertown 313 service, running behind Kambah on Sulwood Drive (Sulwood being the original name of the Kambah property). Normally Intertown Services run via Athllon Drive, however due to an accident ACT Policing had blocked off the road preventing Northbound Intertown services from taking the normal route. BUS-345 also displays one of the new ActewAGL CNG Pod Adverts

Image
BUS-783 a Renault/MACK PR100.2mkI is seen turning onto Limestone Ave (Named for the Limestone Plains, an original name for the district) after negotiating roadworks on Anzac Parade. Westbound lanes are currently closed to allow for a total reconstruction of the roadbase, so all vehicles must cross the median to the eastbound lanes, then follow the eastbound lanes to then again cross to enter the roundabout.

Image
BUS-133 a Dennis Dart SLF with a Wright (Ireland) body is seen turning onto Kings Ave from Parkes Way

Image
A Renault/MACK PR100.2 heads up Kings Ave towards Russell Drive. The Russell signage is typical of Canberra, which has location signage for Town Centres and most suburbs at the boundries on main roads. This is one of the older, wooden style. The Eagle perched and looking over the triangle is the Australian-American Monument

Visiting Coaches

Image
An APT Coach TV4861 (A Scania ****) is seen at the Australian War Memorial on Treloar Cres (Named for John Treloar, OBE, 1st AIF in Gallipoli) on a Canberra Day Tour

Image
A Murrays ACT MO264 Scania **** (?) with PMC Body is seen on Parkes Place (Named for Heny Parkes, both Parkes Place and Parkes Way are named after him) inbetween the National Library of Australia and Questacon (The National Science and Technology Centre)

Image
A Macquarie MAN **** TV5257 is seen on Parkes Place turning into the National Gallery of Australia

Image
PBC Goulburn 2822MO a Hino RG230 with PMC body is seen with a P&D Bodied unit at the National Gallery of Australia

Image

I wonder how old that wooden Russell sign on Kings Avenue is? Some good shots there taken in the wet!

70's-Early 90's I believe they were installed, now they are white reflective metal.

I would guess APT would be a Scania K270IB and the Murrays would be a Scania K124. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Nice photos, That Dennis' certainly has an interesting front.

I'm somewhat ashamed to admit, I've been to Canberra about 3 times now? and I've not once ridden the buses there.

The first time I stayed there however, My friend had to go to the Laundromat and we ended up finding one then I realised we were infront of the Bus Depot at Belconnen so I ended up standing out the front watching the buses. I even had a Un-Branded 14.5M Scania CR228L (I think) show up with trade-plates on. (This was quite a few years ago now)
I just wish we could all get along like we used to in Middle School, I wish that I could bake a cake made of rainbows and smiles and we'd all eat it and be happy.

Have had two CR228L's from memory, I believe a Hillsbus/Westbus and the lone Sydney Buses Metrobus version which did testing for ACT Roads.

Next time you are in Canberra take a ride, contact one of us if you need any help. Also, feel free to visit www.actbus.net for all you Canberra needs.

The Murrays is a 3 Series Scania - K113 or L113 most likely.

I think those APT Scanias are higher output than 270hp, they are usually around the 420 mark - new ones are 470 to 480 hp - the model of that one in the picture is K124.
.
Job done.
