(trideck buses/coaches)
Guys I think a few days ago there was a thread or did I just stumble on it in the fleet list pics , anyway can't find it now.
It was a PMC which I would describe as a step deck but this one was a step deck step deck , roofline showed two step decks instead of the usual one . 70's vintage
Any help ta

No interesting as it is, it is a PMC similar to this pic but has the same two step deck feature as your link.

Admin: Kept link but deleted photo as photographer concerned does not allow us to post his photos.

Re: finding pic
Well its not the one I came across the other day but this is the PMC design I was looking for , so there must have been a few of them around in their time.
So would you call them a double step deck or maybe a camel back design or tri deck .
Can someone also confirm this PMC body design was known as the PMC Progress??
I was never a fan of this PMC design but this double step I have taken a fancy to.

Re: finding pic (trideck busses/coaches)
Great collection of photos ,CCCC.Thanks for sharing. It seems that a lot of builders tried the idea out over the years.Denning tried it too, both single axle and 3 axle versions.Their Denair Jumbo variant being the eventual solution. Tony Finneran's book GBNF 3 had several coaches in there with the triple step deck idea. Freighter Lawton built one around 1970 ,owned by Ambassador Tours, and another in 1974 owned by Banksia Tours, both local companies at the time, both Hino's.

Re: finding pic (trideck busses/coaches)
Good to see my photo's are still out there. There were also possibly two tri deck Denning Mono's in Centralian livery, but the only image I have is on the cover of one of their brochures. I posted this sometime ago as well.
Think for yourself, while it's still legal !
Re: finding pic (trideck busses/coaches)
There were 4 tri decks in Centralian Staff (Camping Tours of Australia) livery. They were delivered in 1975. From memory initially 1 went to subcontractor Armstrongs Coaches, 1 to Caseys Coaches and 2 to Clipper Tours. At the time we referred to them as triple deckers. They were the pride of the fleet then which in 1975 largely was made up of front engined Leylands. I have photos of one or two of them on tour from 1975 stored somewhere, will look for them.

..........................to a couple of people who sent messages regarding the coach book no3 if you think you can do better go for it.........................try writing a book with over 500 pages & scanning pics with a couple of fingers because your left side has suffered a stroke & using your own money to get it done is it any wonder people give up trying to do things .Think before you bitch not everyone is perfect to the people who thanked us & helped the stroke foundation you make it worth while.......................captain C.H. Re: finding pic (trideck busses/coaches)
Anyone got the full rundown of the history of this.
1978 Hino Aerocoach with custom Freighter body. This coach is amazing! Was classed as "the most impressive" coach built in it's time. This is a ONE OF A KIND rig! Was the first coach in Australia to have; shag pile carpet throughout, TV with household aerial, fully euipped cocktail bar and lounge, 3 permanent crew (Driver, Cabin Steward and Bartender), Side opening window to serve drinks outside the bus, fold down BBQ on the rear, hidden roll out awning over the BBQ, speakers built into the rear corners for the BBQ, "luxury" fabric reclining seats with wrap around headrests and built in speakers (in the wrap around parts). This was also Dragon's (April Sun in Cuba, Are You Old ENough, Rain) tour bus for a 2 week tour through NSW and QLD in the late 70's then went on to drive rich Americans around Oz and was named "Far Lap".
The body is a Tri-Deck, nicknamed "camels" by the drivers and only about a dozen were built, all were vastly different.
