The former Sydney double decker Leyland Titan OPD2 [Clyde] and Leyland Atlantean PDR1A [PMC] fleet of Captain Fell's Hobart tours were a familiar sight laying over between runs at Hobart's Brooke Street Pier. In this photo collection, part 1 focuses on ex mo1144 and part 2 subject is mo 2490. Part 3 represents the Mitsubishi Fuso #80 that provided day and half day trips to Port Arthur, Richmond, Mt Wellington and Cadbury's.

Re: Captain Fell's Deckers
The original livery of the Atlantean was very boring and quite horrid (to say the least) however I must admit, the new livery with cream breaking up the red was quite striking. Up until then, the operation looked cheap and dodgy and although many questioned his operations, the buses did look good with the new livery. In saying that, I (amongst others) were fortunate enough to take the OPD2 through to Devonport for it's new owners (Glenorie Coaches) some years back. Although slow it was an enjoyable, hassle-free journey YES, we had to pull over on more than one occasion to allow traffic to pass, but the bus ran like a dream, used very little fuel, NO oil,NO water. Even the new owners had a trouble-free journey from Melbourne back to Sydney. Not bad for a bus over 65yrs old Thank you once again LocoLes for rekindling these fond old memories, of an operation now long gone from our streets I will try and find some shots of our transportation of the Leyland Titan through to the boat in Devonport.

Hi Neil & Denv12,
That is/was a striking livery for the 2 veterans and Neil, that would be a memorable drive to Devonport. I will post my photos of both Red Decker Co. and Gregory & Co deckers in near future.
Cheers, Les
