Firstly, let's reminisce the trams in Launceston c.1950-52 as that's when I remember them best, mainly due to the fact trams were about to be replaced by trolleybuses soon! As a lad of 6years [in 1950] my memories were mostly confined to Hobart Road in the vicinity of what is known these days as Six Ways. The trolleybuses were probably instrumental in this major intersection being so named as it became a turning circle on the Quarantine Road route. Here the trams used to pass each other by way of loops including another loop outside Columbine's Grocery store near Normanstone Road. Whilst mentioning the turning circle at Six Ways I witnessed over the years many trolleybuses stranded here due to de-wiring of trolley poles. It did not pay to stray too far from overhead when making the complicated turn here! Back to the trams. The rails were positioned on the LH side of Hobart Road heading south and trams needed to pause here until passed on the loop by trams travelling in the opposite direction. Wellington Street/ Hobart Road just like the remainder of Launceston's tram routes, apart from the CBD area, mostly consisted of single tracks with loops to allow for timetables to work.
I remember High Street trams used to cross from right side to left side of the road soon after turning the sharp corner from Elphin Road in the vicinity of what is now Windmill Hill. Then there was near Christmas 1950, the huge Ludbrooks fire that destroyed their Brisbane Street store, also Monaghan's next door. The store had been gutted and the front wall of the shop was in danger of collapsing into Brisbane Street so Launceston's trams were not permitted to transverse that section of Brisbane Street that is now the Mall until the wall was brought down.
I remember when tram #3 derailed around that time and struck a tree along Paterson Street on its way to Trevallyn.
Another fond memory is that of number 1 which resided a short distance along the Windermere road from the turn-off at East Tamar Highway, just past Dilston. Tram #1 was one of the fortunate retrievals in that it is currently being restored by the expert craftsmen at LTM, Inveresk. This all occurred after number 1's side trip to Sydney and a swap there for former Launceston #14 to get #1 back to Tasmania. See my photos of #14 below.
And #8 is pictured at Campbelltown a year or so before the then owner passed it on to LTM for restoration. It had been used as a playhouse when I photographed it.
I also photographed Hobart bogie No.116 that resided at Huonville. 116 has been rescued for preservation.
Look out for my photograph of Launceston #22 at McDonald's Rosny restaurant. It had been altered unfortunately so that it only partly looked like the original form.
Enough reminiscing for now, here are photographs taken over recent years of trams [including a few from Hobart] either being used in another guise or retrieved for preservation.
Enjoy my photographs.

Re: Tasmanian Tramcars
Former Launceston [LMT] tram 22 was heavily rebuilt and not resembling its' original design before taking up residence at a food outlet at Rosny. Years later it was moved and this is probably the same tram now residing at the berry farm at Turners Beach.

Re: Tasmanian Tramcars
There was also one assembled at what was called "Mandys" in Moonah (next to MacDonalds) but unsure where that went may have actually been the one that ended up at Rosny
