Love these old pics. Tram 116 on cnr Elizabeth/ Macquarie Streets, looks like the Town Hall is having some restoration work being done with the scaffolding in front of building. Trolleybus 306 must have been heading out to the greyhound track that used to be the White City greyhound stadium.

Where 306 is turning is that Mowbray Heights around the late 50s.

looks like 6 ways which is about half way to kings meadows.

Correct mate, #306 is turning right out of Punchbowl road into Talbot road, sure has changed since that shot, two of the roads including the one in the centre of the pic have now been closed off :D

The Hillman Minx to the left in the photo of 306 indicates no earlier than 1958 at a guess

I went to Launceston recently and drove through Six Ways but with a couple of the streets cut off now. It looks so much better in this photo with the excellent trolleybus wiring.
It would have taken some skill to position the trolleybus for the desired route so the selectric frogs worked as desired. Wonderful era for public tansport.
