Tasmanian Transport Museum turns 50 #5

Postby Tas Bus Nut » Sun Jun 10, 2012 3:42 pm

The Tasmanian Transport Museum were celebrating their 50th anniversary this weekend.
I didn't manage to get there yesterday, which included twilight steam train rides :(
Today's attractions were just as enjoyable though. Here are MY shots: TAXI METERS

Something a bit different. A selection of different TAXI METERS from over the years

I can remember those meters in the original Yellow Cabs that were owned by Nettlefolds and most of the cabs were Holden Belmonts. Bit different to the meters today. In fact cabs were different then no plotters to allocate jobs or GPS's. The two-way radio was the only source of communication between the base and the cab.
