Great collection of trolleys... Was 209 being pushed into the depot? I can't see its poles up?

YES. I remember at the slide presentation the other day, Bruce mentioned that WAS the case. Back in those days, that area of the depot didn't allow for the trolleys, so it was being pushed into the area which housed the trams.

More memories from my childhood  Would say the Caltex Tanker would be Leyland or AEC, but sure it would be a Leyland. The trolley bus being pushed into the depot seems to aided by a Toyota Land Cruiser :D

Yes Steve, and a correction from my reply to Cordes Express, it's getting pushed over Macquarie St into the trolley depot which fronted Victoria Dock. Note the very attentive inspector watching proceedings :P

I thought Hobart trolleybuses had battery back up in case of problems like this.As looking at the picture there is no trolley poles on the roof of 226 and that is the conductor looking on as you can see a cash bag.And the bus at the intersection looks like a Bedford.Picture 7 I do like the RV1 Valiant it be worth a bit of money now.

If I remember correctly, there never any overhead in that part of Cambell st,Would say that 209 is being pushed into that part of the Depot for Retirement as that would have been about when they were being decommisioned.

Looking at that picture of 209 there is trolley wires still in place but you have look hard but it is strange pushing a trolleybus to the yard unless the power been turn off in that section as thought they keep the power on for transferring trolleys to the storage yard for disposal.
