Perth Memories
These photographs of Perth buses have been accrued over several holidays commencing in 1968 with the last visit being 1997. The photos include City Clippers as well as Citylink 504 and the very early days of the Scania DAB vehicles. The highest numbered fleet unit captured on film was 1098 and 2 photos are included of AOA West Coast Eagles 1044. At the end of the post is a selection of Rottnest Island Hino vehicles and 2 photographs of a couple of buses including a Comair Bedford at Bunbury and 2 others at Guildford [or Midland] for which my info is lacking in vital detail.

Re: Perth Memories
Nice photos and thanks for sharing, I used to travel on the some of the ex MTT/Transperth Hino RC520P's which Mandurah Bus Charters used to run the school bus services throughout Mandurah and its outer suburbs in the 90's.
Lots of good memories and they were good solid buses that did not miss a beat.

Re: Perth Memories
Wonderful! Some absolutely classic shots there. Thanks so much for sharing them.
Love the shot of 656 outside Council House. 656 was the first 119 Tiger Cubs, differing in length & layout to the prototype 655.
Your view of the original Redcliffe Depot is magic. The paddock behind became the replacement depot.
506 on a 66 Express! One can just hear it grinding its way up Longroyd St with a capacity load.
522 in typical pose: it dates the shot to 1991 when 517-538 were transferred to Malaga and progressively converted to CNG. It's still diesel in this shot, wearing its original livery. The driver has run-on to the Jetty after completing an 18 or 19, having only changed the last number by half, probably as it would do another out-bound 18 or 19.
I don't have the gen for the Eglo Engineering AEC Regal VI - I don't suppose you noted the fleet no in the cab? It would be in the early 600s.

Am pleased to have stirred your memories of the good old days, am in the process of scanning more pics taken at the time. Wish I had peered inside the Eglo AEC for the fleet number [the door was open].

Great collection of photos.Great memories. Thanks for sharing.Maybe we all should post similar topics covering each city.
Love all the old Leyland photos. I spent a lot of time in Perth during the 80s.Brings back memories.
Do you have any photos of coaches based around WA? When I was driving for Across Australia Coachlines they had a Howard Porter bodied Volvo B10M. I drive it from Adelaide to Perth in Feb 1986.I think it was originally owned when Ross Love owned Across Australia Coachlines.

Re: Perth Memories
Continuing with Perth buses, in this post I have included Perth street scenes [some have buses approaching], Hay Street prior to the Mall with some examples of Holden, Morris, Vauxhall etc. and the businesses in Hay Street at the time. Another photo includes three Volvo cars of the period also a photo of Council House in 1968 with some Leylands etc. at the kerbside. Another pic shows 2 Rottnest Island Hinos on tour.
Two Hino RC520P's and a Leyland Tiger Cub operated around Adelaide some years ago with charter operators. The Bryley and Key Charter Hino is the same bus although it has a different frontal treatment eg: it has a front bumper with Bryley.
Lastly Transperth Scania DAB ex CAT 10 is pictured at Manion's Beaconsfield depot in Northern Tasmania.

I recognised those Adelaide photos, the Hino especially. My Late father,Jack.G. Sellick of "Sellick of Adelaide" bus dealers ,had the Hino which was about to be delivered when I saw it.LocoLes wrote:
