G'day all, yesterday was the Brookton Old Time Motor Show being held at the Brookton Showgrounds. My Dad, his wife and myself all travelled there, arriving approx. halfway through the morning parade.
Although I took a few shots, my Dad took most. I have obtained permission to use his picture's for this thread.
Thanks for reading,
Cheers!

You'd never heard of Leader before?
Grasshopper, they were all over the place in the '80s and were still doing their last rounds in the mid '90s!!
Nice pics, though!
Cheers!

Times have changed now, all you see on our highways nowadays are the big Kenworths and the odd Acco... or one of those new European Iveco EuroCargo or Stralis trucks...tbc1983 wrote:You'd never heard of Leader before?

The last picture is not a tank but an A.P.C. (armoured personnel carrier) & yep the old Leaders were everywhere nearly extinct now
'GM 2strokes, still the most efficient engine ever developed for converting fuel into noise'.

Methinks the model A ford has got something like a modified flathead v8 or a smallblock ford or chevy although they've kept it looking stock from the outside. I mean you wouldnt want a stock one around at 90 with the cable operated brakes ('juice' brakes or hydraulic didn't come out until the 1940 model year) or standard suspension.
As for me, give me liberty, or give me death!

Hi guys that "Tank" maybe an APC but in real terms it is a Bren gun carrier, it's only defences was it's rather light armour and either a Bren Gun (Standard issue medium machine gun of the british army back around the 40's.) or a Lewis Gun as seen in the picture you've shown us, (go to You Tube and you can see these guns being fired.) The Bren gun Carrier was powered by a Ford v8 top speed about 30mph. thanks guys,
