I'm just old enough to remember the Whitlam era & have enjoyed watching the ABC's recent mini-series. As a child I often only watched the news in case there was a glimpse of some form of public transport.
Amongst the numerous clips included in Whitlam - The Power & The Passion were these two Perth scenes:
Who remembers buses in the Hay St Mall? A 575~599 series Worldmaster creeps through the Mall on a Subiaco bound 3:

So they used real footage taken in that era 384? Impressive, may have to check this story out

I wonder where the first panther was in that pic? probably not too hard to work out as the route number is known.

I saw those scenes too. There were many other Perth scenes throughout the program. Great to see the ABC remembers there is a western side of this continent.
There were many political rallies held in Forrest Place in that era.
Those buses in Hay Street also carried clippies, especially the Worldmasters with a rear door.
