Re: AOAs in Perth
The AOA looks fantastic! and what makes it look even more awesome is that it has the Blue and Yellow on it! Certainly should make an appearance at Saturday nights Blockbuster!
Now come on gentlemen... What do you guy have against the West Coast Eagles? they are a great team.

Re: AOAs in Perth
Here we have another full window AOA this time on TP1811 for the Water Corporation "Save 60 "campaign.
Besides from looking more complete , the white AOA probably helps with the AC cooling by reflecting/reducing the glasshouse affects on these stinking hot 35c+ days? The whole World is going to "HELL" And I'm driving the Bus!

Re: AOAs in Perth
Nice one HFB. It infuriates me though, bus companies KEEP their livery on the front. I KNOW there is a reason, but the reason SUCKS
I was beginning to wonder when some NEW AOAs were going to appear in the west. Now Tassie's advertising contract has been won by a Sydney company, hopefully we'll start getting a few more (and national ones too)

Re: AOAs in Perth
TBN, one must remember that not everyone is a Gunzel. Perth people tend to be rather like sheep... or just plain dumb... If an AOA covered the front of the bus, people here (and also tourists who aren't familiar with our buses) wouldn't know that a Transperth bus was approaching.
If it's not a ZF, take it back!

Re: AOAs in Perth
The first AOA I saw was for Broadlands Finance many, many years ago. It covered the whole bus, including the front.
Guess what, some passengers ignored it as it approached stops, as they didn't think it was a 'real' bus, proving Bus-1809's point made above.

Re: AOAs in Perth
That just goes to show the travelling public are DHs. That's what destination signs are designed for, to tell you where the bus is going.
People shouldn't be looking for what colour/type of bus is coming I reckon we may as well GIVE UP training them.

Re: AOAs in Perth
People in Perth don't read desto signs, they just hail the 1st bus they see and ask the driver if it goes where they want to go, even if it's going in the totally wrong direction. Or they get on and then 20 mins into the trip they ask, when do we get to xxx town, when the bus is actually going to yyy town etc...
They even try to hail preserved buses!

Re: AOAs in Perth
You would think so, but I've been to many different cities, and it's all the same. Working out what and where to catch a bus to get from A to B isn't a crucial part of life that they'd want to devote a whole heap of time to sussing it out. They'll see something that looks similar to what they think is theirs and try board it...Tas Bus Nut wrote:I would have thought it's not an expect, but COMMON SENSEMr OC Benz wrote:People do that everywhere, not everyone's brains are designed to think like an expert...
Re: AOAs in Perth
It doesnt help that all buses in Perth look the f@cking same so Perth people wouldn't notice if a colorful bus was approaching them, now would they?
