Re: Adelaide Bus History C MCMANUS SUPPLIED IMAGES Part 3
Am I right in my recollection that it was written off after catching fire again - this time in the Newcastle area?
Interesting that they still have the MTT number blind installed (but it is a long way from Colonel Light Gardens!)
The panel in the middle of the destination header (where the AEC badge is) was intended for the route number when it was rebuilt in 1961 - route numbers were introduced towards the end of 1962, but it was given the standard treatment of using the kerbside blinds, as illustrated here.
Thanks for the photo - I was going to hunt up one of 739 in finished rebuilt form, but this ones does very nicely!
(Have a look in half an hour or so - tonight's instalment has two photos of 739 showing it in fire damaged condition.)
Cheers
Trevor

Trevor,
Do you know anything about the circumstances of the fire? (I know that it was a long time ago, but - you never know ...)

I'm enjoying your photos. Could you post your photos all in one post instead of many posts? Thanks.
