770508Su Adelaide (SA): Garden City Mini Tours Toyota Coaster. (Roderick Smith)
This tour was designed for people connecting from the Overland (~9.00 arrival) to the 12.30 Perth train. That was what my group of four was doing, so we took the tour.
This looks to be too treed for Light's Vision, could it be the Mt Lofty summit?

It could be windy point, unless Mt Lofty summit has changed a lot since the 70s (which it probably has).Roderick Smith wrote:770508Su Adelaide (SA): Garden City Mini Tours Toyota Coaster. (Roderick Smith)

Re: Toyota Coaster in 1977
Great responses: Where is Windy Point? That time frame I thought precluded Lofty Summit.
Yes, The Toyota Coaster was something of a latter day unsung hero: prolific and versatile. We were all lamenting our 1950s icons as it came and went, but it had a significant place in bus history. A history from anyone with the enthusiasm would be a great contribution to Australian bus and transport knowledge. Perhaps a first timer can take the plunge, and assemble everything and become a new revered name in the hobby? The rivals were rather come-lately ones, but could be added to make a rounded picture.

The old coasters need to be remembered. They were unique for their time. These ones here set the pace and standards. It would be great to see more photos and some history here on them so if anyone can contribute please add to this topic.

Windy Point is at the top of Belair Rd. Currently routes 195, 196 and 197 operate past there.Roderick Smith wrote:Great responses: Where is Windy Point? That time frame I thought precluded Lofty Summit.
