MAN & Merc Rail Subs: Mercs

Post by person1 »

Hi all,
It's been a while since I last posted because the MAN artics were removed from service. Now that they're back along with the Mercs on rail subs I plan to take more photos of them, although My only option is to use an iPad, which does not take the best of photos.
I had my first ride in a Mercedes O305G in a very long time. I stood at the main rail stop in King William and a nice Southlink supervisor lady was there. She told me that all the 'old bendies' would be used until line completion in September.
I then caught Merc R548. Unfortunately I was threatened by a disabled person who thought I was taking photos of him. Hopefully my next Merc experience will be more pleasant.
I got off at VS1 and walked back along King William to catch MAN SG280H R534 at B1, getting off once again at VS1.
Will post MAN photos soon.

Enjoy!

Ah, this little seat brings back memories. I used to sit in it when I was a child going to TTP or the city.

Front interior of R548. Once again, my apologies for the blurriness. Still, it gives some insight of the bus

Unfortunately I didn't get the number of this one, silly of me. I think it is R569, which was (running N6) in the photo I took before.

...or this one. May have been partly due to it being hard to take a landscape photo with an ipad cover.

Was this photo taken on the bus? I'd definitely had waited until there weren't people around you, like at a terminus or something. With today's mental health issues, it doesn't take much to set people off unfortunately. I've found that in this hobby, it's good to be as discreet about it as possible in public.

Hopefully your next rail sub stint will turn out somewhat more memorable.
