Merc O305G's a few years ago
Various shots I found last night of Merc artics with Serco and Torrens Transit.
I managed 1 afternoon to take 593 on a round trip of the old 195/196 route, I remember good comments from pax on how I handled it going up Belair Rd. Unfortunately I didn't get to take it up Kalyra Rd but I did take it down.
578 leaving Klemzig Station.
588 at the old Airport Terminal, from memory the timetables are removed for the re-location of the stop to the new terminal.
567 at Greenwith Terminus.
588 at Golden Grove Village Interchange.
572 at Clarendon St Layover.
582, 547 and 5xx showing 3 different liveries.
547 at Fairview Park Terminus.
555 at Surrey Downs Terminus, I have A feeling this may be on Serco's last day of operations.
573 at the old Airport Terminus on the 1st day of the JetBus operations.

Still doesnt beat the shot you took of me in 592 taking on that roundabout.
Re: Merc O305G's a few years ago
Good old 547 the oddball, you could tell that one coming from a mile away! Love the ones that still have the Merc badges on too, they really complete the look of the bus!
Should also point out the shot of 547 at the (542) Fairview Park terminus is the former Fairview Park terminus just east of Seaview Road, unlike the current location just east of Hancock Road.
LOVE the supp boards on the JetBuses, you don't see them often any more!

Interesting photo of the Merc on the 196. I recall that last decade some time during the Serco days, there was a period of time where Merc artics could be seen way off the beaten track on runs such as the 451, and 560. The latter was almost guaranteed to be a Merc rigid back then, but an artic doing this run was extremely rare.
Does anyone recall the circumstances surrounding these unusual allocations? What other obscure trips did the Mercs wind up on?

Some great pics posted there of wonderful buses which I miss seeing running on the o-bahn services. Especially like the night shot at the Airport of 573, and 547 in the famously unique white and of course great to see a pic of 582 which as we know was sadly destroyed by fire at Seaview Downs in late 2008.
Thanks for these shots

Great pics mate, makes me ill knowing these are destined for scrap and the images of them being torn up are just awful.
Comfortably the best bus Adelaide has ever had, they were ahead of their time and to be frank are still better than many of the buses getting around Adelaide today. The new SCANIA's on the O'Bahn have no character and are pretty uncomfortable to be honest. They have nothing on the 0305 AND 0305G
Cheers.

Looking at the pic of 567 on Green Valley Dr, I thought artics were banned from doing 544G services or 544s from Greenwith due to the small roundabout to U-turn at on Green Valley Dr?
Re: Merc O305G's a few years ago
I thought it was only the MAN artics they were banned from doing the lethal U-turn.
Re: Merc O305G's a few years ago
Wouldn't the government make more money out of selling them, rather than scrapping them like STA? It is a shame to see them go.

Scrap value is probably pretty high on them. Also, they may not be in a condition suitable for future use
If it's not a ZF, take it back!

That run always had an artic allocated to it, MAN artics even made it up there.
