Landsborough Rail station where the bus meets the train. Very popular with a near full bus to Mooloolaba. Travels via the Bruce Highway and Sunshine Motorway and maintains a good pace!

Nambour Rail station, CDi did n’t run from there in 2014. Double decker had to divert on route 612 in 2013 due to a low railway bridge on Price Street.

720 on route to Noosa near Point Arkwright. Some fine scenery on the route can be enjoyed from the top deck. The David Low Way twists and turns and has many roundabouts but the ride is good and the suspension handles it well.

716 route is via Buderum, which is inland and 183 metres ASL. The CDi handles the long climb well, up from the coast at Mooloolaba, with the Cummins ISle5 engine powering along.

The seating on the top deck is comfortable, but in the front seats leg room is compact, usually occupied by excited kids anyway, and the facing seats over the top of the stairs are very intimate.

At Caloundra bus station the buses have to load front end in and reverse out. The double deck fits in as well as the single deck buses with plenty of room overhead. The Cdi is 12.5 metres long, same as a conventional single deck, and 4.3 metres high.

The Bustech Double decker CDI 11 ( Surfside 351) has been on the Sunshine Coast again this year with Sunbus, over the Christmas holiday period. The Sunshine Coast council offers a two week period after Boxing Day with free bus travel on all Sunbus Translink services and the double decker is very popular; the top deck is usually pretty well full on the 715 from Landsborough to Maroochydore. Sunbus publishes a time table of running times and routes of the double decker, which is very helpful. I wish Surfside when they run 343 and 351 would do the same.
I have ridden the bus as passenger quite a bit, and my opinions are from a passenger point of view. (I have n’t driven it.)
