After 498's loan to Virginia depot this week, it was only fitting that the old girl returned to her 'real home' - Toowong Bus Depot.
We had a fantastic meeting which saw BCC Public Transport Chairman Peter Matic guest speak - as well as Lawrie Bennett who was one of only two mechanics who could ever work on her due to the regenerative braking system that was installed by the University of Queensland.
We also learned last night that 498 is the only regenerative braking bus to enter service in the world! There was another prototype in Sweden but it never ventured into service.
Our next General Meeting will be held on Saturday February 22nd from 6pm at Chermside Library (Hamilton Road, Chermside) for those wishing to come along - a Hornibrook bus will be brought for entertainment.
Thank you to all who turned up - we had a record number of 17 attendees last night which was fantastic to see!

Re: QOCS January General Meeting
Should be able to attend. Friday nights are off, would have loved to see the Panther hope she's out and about again soon.
Hornibrook bus, would love it to be one of the two Bustechs.

The Hornibrook bus will hopefully be #88, if not 92 or 94.Colhad75 wrote:Should be able to attend. Friday nights are off, would have loved to see the Panther hope she's out and about again soon.
