Oh yes, Certainly be watching that Burliegh Heads Factory, not to mention the surrounding roads including the M1. it's not going to be one of those things you'll not see! Such a nice colour too!

The detailed 36 page specification for Double Deckers from Department of Transport NSW shows that they are serious about the type - but the RTA remains the problem.

Now that the DoT and RTA are now part of the same organization, perhaps these anomalies can be reduced

It is interesting to note that "Transport NSW" under the "DOUBLE DECK - TWO DOOR CITY BUS - BUS SPECIFICATION" (link is in another post above this one) puts the weight of a passenger as 65kg
1.5 ‘Fully laden’ is defined as a full complement of driver, seated and standing passengers at 65kg / passenger, plus a full load of fuel and with the Bus in ‘ready for the road’ operating condition.
I enlarged the weight text to emphasise it.

That is the average used for single deck buses too.

I don't think I would be wrong in saying that is nowhere near the "average weight" of a passenger these days.

So does that mean that if the bus was at max capacity seated and standing with people weighing 75kg and the bus was pulled into a weigh station it would be considered overweight?

Potentially, depending what the bus is carrying. But the 65kg average is used in particular for performance and acceptance testing by DoT, and does not relate to the RTA weight requirements. The RTA goes off total gross weight, not individual pax average weights.

All that I am going to say now that I have read every little word here is "very nice". Very nice indeed. Congratulations to Denning for getting off their butts and designing/building them. The same can be said of Bustech as well. These two companies are moving forward in regard to the bigger population and space issues that this country has. We should never have removed double deckers from route work, ever.

Lovely looking coach, beautiful interior. My question is why do Thompson's Denning Pheonix's and these double decks have no luggage racks. I always think luggage racks look better than just a plain panel with reading lights. With a coach that is.
