Do to shut down rail along Sydenham Line between Sunshine & Tottenham Buses operates between Flemington Races to Sunshine or Albion & from Footscray to Sunshine & shuttle 3 cars comeng (didn't photograph) Train operates bewteen Sunshine to Watergarden taken yesterday (4 July).

All lines. Caulfield lines (Pakenham, Cranbourne, Frankston) seem to get them a lot, so does Werribee/Williamstown which through-routes to Frankston.

The restrictions on Hitachi trains were modified with the May 8th timetable change.

Hitachi trains can operate any service between first train to last departure at Flinders Street by 2000hrs during weekdays; and additional services to the normal timetable on weekends (i.e. football and race specials).

Some are occasionally appearing on regular weekend runs as well, if it means Metro can avoid a cancellation.

Hitachi trains can operate any service between first train to last departure at Flinders Street by 2000hrs during weekdays; and additional services to the normal timetable on weekends (i.e. football and race specials).

They occasionally run later than 2000 as well. It's not unusual to see one running an early morning Werribee and having it run back and forth between Werribee and Frankston all day until close to 9pm.

Being that I'm doing a 9-5 job in the city at the moment, I havn't seen if they're out during the day as much, but the first few weeks after May 8, What I mentioned above was quite common.

They where mainly using the ComEng's,Siemans and the odd Hitachi too Flemington Racecourse,the X'strap was only on a layover.
The trains are only using Platform 2 and not Platform 1.

Only Comengs, Siemens and Silvers are allowed to carry passengers on the Flemington line. X'trapolis are only signed off for empty running.
