2619 is seen betwen the Sydney Tramway Museum and Sutherland Shops. This is probably the only AEC regent 3 with a Clyde body to be preserved,

I keep overlooking the fact that the STM dabble in a bit of bus preservation on the side as well. How many buses have they got? Is that ERT visible behind their's as well? Does the Sydney Bus Museum and Sydney Tramway Museum do collaborations?
2619 looks and sounds great and is of high historical importance.

The Sydney tramway museum only has two buses which is 2619 in this video and Trolleybus 19 which is under restoration. And yes, sometimes the Sydney bus museum operates shuttles between the Tram Museum and Sutherland during special events like the Gala day. Also sometimes during the school holidays or during special events the bus museum operates trips to the tram museum. If you mean by this kind of collaboration.

They also have ex DGT s/d Leyland TS7 no 275 and Albion CX19 d/d no 615.

I think they had an early underfloor, not sure if that was lost in the fire a couple of years ago?

Yes, and any other. I take it there are members there who know how to maintain the buses.

Buses on special events days can also come from SBM, the Parker Road Transport Museum collection, or other private owners.

SBM has been offering public outings from Leichhardt down to Loftus during school holidays.

There seems to be good relations between the two, with a lot of mutual members.

Not sure why STM has buses (apart from the trolleybus), perhaps there was no bus museum at the time they collected them, or they wanted some comparison so that visitors could experience the degradation of travel conditions that followed the end of the trams?! They certainly succeeded on the second one with my family as I tried some years back to get them on one of the buses for a Sutherland run and they got one whiff of the diesel fumes and ran gagging from the bus screaming "get us off here!"

The buses at the Tramway Museum are meant to represent the buses used to replace the trams during the 1950s to 1960s.

If this was the case they'd have a post-war underfloor as those were officially promoted as the "tram replacement bus". 615 was a Manly tramway replacement bus so that is legit, but the prewar single decker and 2619 seem to have been acquired as there was nobody else to preserve them. I don't know if the museum has a collection policy that might explain otherwise.

They should get an ex Adelaide Lawton Worldmaster or Regal IV with three doors to show what a real tram replacement bus looks like. They should have taken the opportunity to grab one of the many used in NSW and restored it back to a three door by unfilling the missing doorway.
There was a trashed ex Sydney Worldmaster among those vandalised tram bodies in the old Glebe tram depot.

I hope they managed to salvage some undamaged mechanical components. Whoever did that deserve to have their necks wrung. The shed wasn't very secure though.

There is no shortage of preserved u/f elsewhere.
