Australia Wide Coaches - Scania

Post by Busco. »

Mills Tui Magestic or APG Magestic?? Scania - Orange Railway getting ready for NSW Trainlink Service to Parkes. It must have been on replacement duties for the usual Denning Pheonix.

I presume this is the one that carried Gray Line Day Tour livery when Australia Wide took on that work in Sydney.

Yes this is the ex AWC coach that was in the Gray Line livery. It is going to live in the orange depot now as it will be the spare coach out there.

Does that mean that AWC have lost the Grayline contract or is there another coach now in that livery? There are still two other units shown as being in Grayline livery in the fleet list.

No they still have the contract but the owner wanted to send this to orange. Watch this space for the next grayline coach

Many of the AWC coaches (Sydney based) have the Gray Line sticker below the drivers window, with only the one Irizar and Rosa currently in the full Gray Line colours. The Irizar seems to be permanently allocated to the Blue Mountains day tour.

TV7600 is no longer at AWC - it's now owned by Orana Coaches P/L t/as Langley's of Dubbo.

It's a Mills-Tui Majestic but when I looked at the body compliance plate, it says Mills-Tui Australia P/L Austral-Denning Majestic. I looked up Mills-Tui on Wikipedia and found out that they took over Austral (and Austral-Denning), hence that name on the body compliance plate

It was interesting to say the least!

And the funniest thing about this coach? This K94IB has the 7 speed Comfort Shift manual gearbox in it - the rest of the fleet are fitted with the Opticruise AMT's
