Pre 2010 region 3 network map

Postby marcnut1996 » Tue Aug 12, 2014 9:03 pm

I have realised that there is no complete Region 3 network map in the net (the closest is page 8 of http://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/b2b/abouttrans/Region-3.pdf),
so I got bored and started making this:
Image
Sorry if you can't see the routes and please correct me if I have gotten some sections (Hopkinsons and Metrolink's routes) wrong.

This image is made up of Baxter's (before taken over by CDC), Westbus'(2005), Busabout's(2008) and current Transit System's network maps. Metrolink and Hopkinsons routes are drawn according to Mr Robert Henderson's Sydney Bus Routes timelines.

Looks like quite a big region, about as big as Region 1...

I think region 1 would leave regions 3 for dead. Region 1 has over 300 buses compared to region 3 with 237 and I would also think that some parts of region 1 would be more sparsely populated.

This is great work...
The page you linked doesn't work (404 Error Page not found):
http://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/sites/d ... gion-3.pdf <--(404 Page Not Found)

Region 3 is owned and run by the Transit Systems group:
https://www.transitsystems.com.au/sydney/
Bus maps and timetables can be found at:
https://www.transitsystems.com.au/sydne ... route-maps

although many of the timetables and the Liverpool community bus info "Failed to load"
Most of the maps get through OK though.

The following map is of the "Proposed" bus system or region 3 and I am not sure how closely it represents the current system but I hope it helps you out marcnut1996.

Sydney Bus contracts and regions maps can be found at the following sites:

The link that does not work would have worked back in 2014 when that post was made, before Transit Systems took over Region 3 - keep in mind this thread has not been active since 2014.

I have had no problem with the community bus timetable and map
http://www.transitsystems.com.au/sydney ... le_map.pdf
http://www.transitsystems.com.au/sydney ... le_v3b.pdf

And the "Proposed" map you refer to is dated back in 2009 - there have been a lot of changes since then.

And the best place for region maps is https://transportnsw.info/travel-info/w ... rator-maps
