The photos that I took are of the back of the depot on Heathcote Rd, this part of Heathcote Rd is what still remains since before the Heathcote Rd M5 overpass was built. I'm thinking that Centenary Ave was linked up with Heathcote as it runs parallel to the M5, probably part of the traffic flow design for the streets around the industrial estates in conjunction with the Heathcote Rd M5 overpass.

I'm not sure if buses enter/exit through both ends of the depot but the Heathcote Rd gate seems to be popular.

 Well, that's a good omen for the traveling public, isn't it? I hope that they have been here getting some serious geographic learning in before they are thrown to the wolves! Not much comparison between sleepy hollow, (sorry, Adelaide) and manic Sydney and environs!

Will most people running the ship be from Adelaide or has NSW sourced recruiting begun already?

Thanks Stu.From my observations the operating pattern will be enter via Centenary Avenue.Exit via the service road at the eastern end of the depot which then joins Heathcote Road.It would be very difficult to operate both ways through the depot given it is such a narrow ,long piece of land.

The specific T-Way T80 Volvos that will be acquired by TSA will apparently be operating out of Moorebank depot when TSA officially begin operations soon, although the Moorebank depot has filled up considerably over the past months. I'll have a look tomorrow to see if there are any new arrivals and how much room is remaining.

Noted this morning one of the ex.BT Volvos parked at the rear of the yard has had a collision and has sustained some panel damage.

Also a full car park with a few SA registered cars amongst them - staff from the Adelaide operation I guess.

What a boring transit system it will be.
Good to see proper full width centre doors will be used. Very 'government'.
Is that Volgren MAN an 18.310 or 18.320?
2nd hand or just out of the factory?

A nice fleet of modern, air-conditioned buses is exactly what the passengers want to see. I can only see this as a positive for bus users in western Sydney.

Are those TNSW livery Iveco buses in Adelaide going to join force at some stage?

That's one of the ex BT buses! Shows how effective the repaint into TNSW is.
It has just occured to me that this newcomer will have,by far, the highest proportion of of buses in TNSW livery.

Only 18.320 HOCL-NL (A69) is produced in Euro 5 format.

Are these Voiths or ZF? All of Busways 18.310s are ZF and the 18.320s Voiths and don't they fly when pushed hard!!
Can you explain all that other coding you mentioned after the model name?

The ex.BT Volvos are only a repaint below window level and cut/polish to the remainder.Perhaps an interim thing to get sufficent vehicles on the road to meet contractural requirements.

You can get either transmission in either variant its an operator specification. Hopefully someone can answer which these are.
Swift wrote:Can you explain all that other coding you mentioned after the model name?
"18" is the maximum gross weight the chassis can handle (18 ton) and 320 is the output rating of the chosen engine in horsepower.

A69 is the actual chassis model of the bus, for example you could have an 18.320 or an 18.360 but it could still be an A69 chassis.

HOCL-NL is the code for what features the bus has, eg HOCL indicates it is a rear engine bus and NL means it is low-entry.

There is already a thread which deals with all of these model codes, can I suggest everyone look it up and keep needless commentary on which bus or gearbox is better to other threads.

I've been informed that the ex BT O500's are in amazingly excellent condition, so TSA have certainly purchased wisely.
Enjoy.

Yes 53.3% according to the new version of the script which hopefully will be launched in the next couple of days to replace the existing one.

From very recent experience driving the O500's, they are in good condition and the only gripe drivers had with them was the drivers seat.
