The tour with 2029 appears to have been double headed part of the way. I think wieght restrictions on the bridge restricted motive power to 19, 20 and 41 class locos.

Not sure where this pics was taken:

This one was probably near the end of the line:

Hi "Boronia"
Once again thank you for your great photos///// re your 1st photo as I lived in Moorebank most of my life I can not place this photo, because of the buildings in the back ground, the fact that the train is on a grade, the only grade was from the George's River Bridge to the Main line at Liverpool, and also the "slit wooden rail fence" I don't think this train is on the Moorebank Branch as the whole line was unfenced. Re 2nd photo I think train is approching the Ammunition Junc, after leaving Greenhills Ave and travelling through the bushland. My mates & I used to ride our bikes along the dirt track beside the train. Again thank you for great photos.

The first photo is not on the branch, as the second engine was (I thought it had to be) removed before crossing the bridge because of weight limits imposed at the time. Your pic of the 44 certainly negates that theory. It could be taken around Warwick Farm, which was still fairly "rural" in those days.

Apart from the photos, I have no recollection of the actual tour, but it would be mid 1960s.

Hi my good friend "Boronia re your 1st photo ,I don't think it would be around Warwick Farm as I started on N.S.W.G.Railways in june '55 as a Jnr Stn Asst at W'wick Farm and there are no over head wires, maybe it is shot south of Liverpool on the way to Campbelltown.

according to the DVD "Memories NSW 1957-1963", there was a tour to the Moorebank Lines sometime between those years, it dosnt actually say what year.
In the DVD it shows the following station
Top Line ANZAC Rifle Range
Bottom Line Commonwealth of Australia

The train with 2029 was an NSWRTM Trip on 11 Sept 1966. It was a Subn Tour which also used 3134, and visited such exotic places as Pippita, Brickworks Plat and Abbatoirs, and started off running from Syd Terminal to Liverpool via Banko.
