Wellington have a few Double Deckers running on Sightseeing services & I believe they haven't had any issues with the Trolley wires.. So i say Bring on the Deckers...

Also, back in 5-10 years ago, Citybus in Hong Kong was planned to ship the world first air cond double deck trolleybus to Wellington after the project was objected by the authorities in Hong Kong, but it didn't happen (At the same time was also planned to ship some 12m double decker buses from Hong Kong for the Shore)
