Not regular use - only as a last resort. No longer 1500's either (although a couple still have 1500 series numbers, 1500's they are not!)

2307 was the only one in Scheduled service on Friday Morning on a 30 from Scorching Bay. Two of the others were on Eastern Suburbs School runs.

again, spotted 1508(still numbered as 1508) on route 23 this morning.

on another note,an ex-redbus 900 series tag MAN is now based at kilbirnie depot, unsure about the fleet number. ex-swanson/leopard #1729 was seen doing train replacement on sunday, its been partially painted in NCS livery, and will eventually be geiven a decent makeover.

ex-redbus 680 tag MAN 22.240 is now owned by NCS as well, still in red colour, its interesting to note that two wellington based bus companies are buying out "redbuses"

I am under the impression that the time is not too far off when virtually the entire NCS school/charter bus fleet is dominated by MAN stadt80s.(they must now have at least 12 MANs)

It would be really appreciated if you could post some photos if you get the chance. I still haven't seen any photos of the ex SLF Redbuses in Wellington floating around the internet yet.

CBS 833?

Is that a ZhongTong because I thought the ZhongTong fleet numbering only went up to the 820's?

The King wrote:And I know I keep on saying this but I think that the 900s need to be replaced as well (perhaps with the tag axle 18.280s that Busdrivr said were coming to Wellington). I keep on saying that the 900s are insufficient for the routes they run like the 83 and 81 services I catch, they are always packed full. Today I got left behind at the stop because the bus was too full and it was only 4pm. The single door doesn't help either when the bus is packed full and someone from the back wants to get off :x

The 900s can go on to be school buses and maybe some Go Wellington express routes. They can stay on Wainui Commuter services though.

lol,yep I agreed, however the insufficient capacity is nothing compare to their aoeful ride quality, they are known to have little suspension travel, the seats are also utterly uncomfortable for this sort of long distance commuter services.

I'd like to see some articulated buses on route 81/83,but dont think it'll happen anytime soon lol :P

Send some of the Valley Flyer 900's to Waka Pacific for the Pukekohe run... I'm sure with their loadings and open road work they could cope with just one door...

What I was meaning is, if they are too small for the work they're doing in the Hutt they could send some north..

Probably already reported 2303 at Metrolink ( Auckland ) and in AOA for the Hop card.
