My paper bus design

Post by redbusfan »

Thought I would share my attempt at designing a paper bus model. This is a MAN SLF red<bus.
I haven't built this yet as I don't have a printer. I have more models available including a kiwi bus builders SLF, BCI coach, Bristol RE, and designline models including Olymbus and the "bubble". Ii use them just to design new and existing NZ liverys.

I'm sure none of these buses, except Leopard's B7RLE tags have aircon??? However I have an ARA or Yellow bus 1727 MAN SL202 somewhere, I must look for it :?

Good effort though, some of the best examples of NZ buses I've seen so far.

Here we have a Designline Olymbus, in redbus shuttle livery. I added a front, side and rear destination displays which, the shuttles don't actually have :o .
And again, with air con unit

Looking good sir. Just a couple of points on the Newlands Volvo B7R, none of the 2-axle variants have rear destination signs, the rear door is a wide single leaf door, and the grill at the rear are horizontal cylindrical shapes.

Also the NZ Bus Scania's rear drill is not quite so pronounced, but off memory cannot remember exactly how it looks :P

Otherwise, good work!

Oh, also, the new MAN's for Leopard and Redbus do not have air-conditioning fitted, and the Kiwi Volvo's for Leopard have forced air ventilation, not air conditioning.

Also all NZ Bus Scanias including Go Wellington have larger Thermo King units. Don't they each have Thermo King Citi RT units?

:) Thank you all for all your advice and input etc. I'm new to this. I appreciate all of your advice and take it onboard to design buses that look like the real ones on the streets of NZ. The ones I've posted are just the first ones I've designed :D .

I think the rear section of that SL202 is slightly elongated. Although would be perfect we we had axle loading laws comparative to Australia :)

The extension is the little window to the right of the rear door, otherwise it is about right.

here is my version of a BCI explorer with no livery. I tried to copy the Reesbys BCI coach but it was too difficult to do.
