Ok thanks, that's why people are wondering if it'll fit under that bridge. I'm sure I've seen them turn from Dudley into Spencer st though?

Skybus has taken a second delivery of the double decker. Fleet number 102. Does anyone know if these are the extended ones as they have 2 stairs on the inside?

Inbound they generally take Footscray Rd and outbound they generally take Spencer St, avoiding the right turns into or out of Dudley St - however on occasion they will take they opposite route depending on traffic conditions.

Dudley St rail bridge is signposted for a 4.3m clearance, hence the particular interest. Apparently this made the coverage on Nine News, but alas doesn't seem to be posted online.

Kind Regards

The bridge is 4.3m at Dudley st, the Volgren optimus decker is 4390mm, so it won't fit. Also, the model wasn't launch when they were looking for the decker, thats explain why they went with Bustech instead of Volgren

It would appear to be 12.5m, what's the other one?

Really? 90 mm is only the width of my hand. Our buses say 3.4 and we're not supposed to go under 3.4 metre bridges, but it can be done... (Ringwood Station comes to mind. Which means the person with the tape measure has erred on the side of caution, understandably...

The link above includes the news item from Channel 9 from a few weeks ago. The video includes footage of the bus going under the Dudley St Bridge.

Interestingly the story states they are hoping to have eight in service by the end of the year (I'd had only heard 4 or 5 from other sources), and ultimately run the entire service with deckers.

Kind Regards

Fleet number 106 is in service today - a friend of mine, John Lemar photographed it at T4 Tullamarine. But I am a little confused about the staircase situation with these Skybus CDI's - are all buses now twin staircase??

So, after this, will Skybus only have these double deckers in their fleet?
