Re: PTV livery list
With the network upgrades this week in Bendigo, Whitmore Group "Strath Transit" 6695AO (M.A.N. 12.220, Custom) has emerged freshened up in PTV colours.
Peak services now to Strathfieldsaye now require two buses so it will be easy enough to find, assuming it can stay out of the workshop.
Kind Regards

One more into PTV:
#837 (Scania K230UB, Volgren Malaysia "CR228L") - Lilydale.
Also 1041 and 1042 [King Long] moved from Rosebud to Dandenong and Seaford respectively, and Penbus livery removed.

1042 is still currently in penbus livery, and still living at Rosebud with a new buddy from Dandenong 627.
I'm aware this is more Ventura Group news and is in the wrong thread.
Re: PTV livery list
Another 5 for Ventura - #383 (Volvo B7RLE, Volgren) livery refreshed, plus #1253 - #1256 (Scania K310UB, Volgren) have been delivered this week. The latter two have extra decals for the 201 express shuttle that commences next week.
As reported elsewhere by Coach_Captain, M.A.N. 16.242 & Bradley, Sita has now placed two buses into PTV colours, #129 & #130 (Volvo B7RLE, Volgren) in preparation for the interpeak 403 express shuttle that commences next week. Like Dysons, they appear to be holding off as much as possible, with #140, #141 & #142 (Volvo B7RLE, Volgren) being delivered in recent weeks in the traditional orange.
Meanwhile, another V/Line coach has finally been reported with Dysons #904 (Scania K440EB 14.5m, Coach Concepts) arriving in the purple PTV livery.
Kind Regards

Re: PTV livery list
Correct me if I'm wrong, and I may have asked this before, but are operators that have buses funded by PTV/the government contractually obliged to have them in PTV colours?
Which would be why operators like McHarry's still receive buses in the corporate McHarry's livery?
Thanks,
Mitch

Re: PTV livery list
^ All buses are funded by the government, but PTV livery is required only when the government directs them to do so. I'm sure it'll happen eventually.

Re: PTV livery list
Not quite accurate.PTV livery is required when an operator signs up to receive it.Thus far CDC,Transdev and Ventura group have signed up.
On new PTV contracts it is a requirement for the buses allocated to those contracts to receive PTV livery.Hence recent PTV livery on Dysons new contracts in the north and on Sita's 403 starting today.
In my opinion a waste of time and money.PTV livery won't attract a single new pax.Local marketing of services is much more effective than system wide marketing.

Re: PTV livery list
It actually makes everything harder, feedback from my customers suggests they they hailed bus by livery. The knew that the blue bus was going where they wanted to go, not the red or green ones.
I've noticed I need to get closer in general before I am hailed. Some destos are hard to read.

Re: PTV livery list
Can agree with this especially with the font that Transdev use (old Mercs/bubbles the worst) plus wrong files loaded to particular destos make it virtually impossible to read the desternation till the bus is on top of you.Alstom 888M wrote:It actually makes everything harder, feedback from my customers suggests they they hailed bus by livery. Re: PTV livery list
Yep, 100% agree. Recently had a dental appointment in the city, then had to travel to work in Doncaster via 907. Waited in Lonsdale St. Saw PTV livery bus, largely expected it not to be a Smartbus, which turned out to be correct as it was a 309. Second PTV bus came closer, made same assumption. Suddenly panicked and waved it down as it was the 907, not in Smartbus livery, with a small unreadable green destination. It actually makes everything harder, feedback from my customers suggests they they hailed bus by livery. Frankly, either PTV need to step in and enforce the requirement for Smartbus liveries on Smartbus routes unless a service would otherwise be cancelled, or Transdev need to bring back single line destinations that are actually readable. If a bus is going to Mitcham, I can sort out the fine details either from the totem information, the internet, Google Maps, or when I get there. Adding a second line with 'station' makes the information less clear. Even the vias are largely a waste of space, and make the whole destination unreadable instead of being helpful. A rotating display with a single line would be more helpful if vias are genuinely necessary, same as how Dysons do theirs.
