Next Event: HCVC Display Yarra Glen Racecourse Sunday 12th November
(Bonus Saturday 11th November set up day)

The HCVC Display of Historic trucks and buses is on Sunday 12th November from 9am at Yarra Glen racecourse. Entry $10, children U/14 free. Bus operators and individuals will display their heritage buses and coaches. Some will set up on the Saturday. Gary Driver is one of these and has invited BCSV members to ride along if they wish. The convoy of Driver Heritage vehicles will leave the Driver depot in Rickett’s Road, Mt Waverley at about 1pm on Saturday 11th November. There will be an opportunity to change vehicles on the way. A current day coach will return attendees to the depot at around 5pm. On the Sunday, members can join the transfer coach at the Driver depot at about 8.30am. It will stop at Lilydale Station to pick up members who have travelled by train from the city and will meet the service that arrives at Lilydale at 9.14am. The return journey from the display, using the heritage vehicles, will leave Yarra Glen at about 3pm with drop off at Lilydale Station before travelling back to the depot. Final pick up times will be advised.

Next Social Meeting: Sunday 19th November Hawthorn Tram Museum at 3pm

Geoff Foster will present the third part of his slide presentation on Victorian County School Buses of the 70s to the 90s.

Next Tour Weekend: 25th/26th November 2017
Saturday 25th November: 40th anniversary of TeleBus services in Lilydale
To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of TeleBus pioneered by John Usher, we will drive over TeleBus Areas 1, 2, 3 and 4 using representative vehicles used on the TeleBus service. We will travel to Lilydale Lake for a BBQ lunch. In the afternoon, we'll visit Lilydale depot, our first visit since February 2010, with some short rides of other buses in the fleet. There will be a brief visit to Croydon depot as well. Costs will be $10 for members and $20 for non members (U/18 half price). Further details with pickup times and locations will be advised.

Sunday 26th November: Visit to Crown Coaches and (possibly) Mee’s

We will have an afternoon visit to the operations of Crown Coaches as part of their 50th Anniversary celebrations. Subject to confirmation, we will visit Mee’s in the morning. There will be a lunch between visits. Costs will be $10 for members and $20 for non members (U/18 half price). Further details with pickup times and locations will be advised.

Reminder:
As previously advised, the ARHS has decided not to proceed with the proposed ARHS/BCSV Tour to the Mornington Peninsula on Sunday 15 October and so this tour has now been cancelled.

Craig, is it Saturday 14th October 2017, or Sunday 15 October 2017?
If it works, why change it!
