Metro fares to rise in January. Short trip goes from $2.60 to $2.80, Medium trip goes from $3.80 to $4.00 and long trip g goes from $5.80 to $6.00. Greencard is still 20% discount ie Medium Greencard will go from $3.04 to $3.20. Concession fares will not increase. Residents of certain areas would be happy about that  .

Crass political oppotunism if you ask me. Still, not unique to Tasmania. the Pensioner Excursion Ticket in my old home town is still the same price as when I started there in 2005 and is also not being increased with the New Year fare reviews.
Love this island!

300 series seem to be receiving rear number plate covers. Noticed 306 on Saturday and another today.
I only assume this is to prevent the fading number plates we seem to get.

Majority of bike rack vehicles received their racks today.
321 also had a rear advert for the service applied.
Don't expect to see them on the road until next week.

Last time we saw that, was on a TBCS tour, and it was in a sorry state with engine woes. Obviously been fixed AND painted. Hopefully photos this weekend.

Hard to scoop with no internet!
It is their brown/white one, don't think it's had a repaint.

And here they are, the recently acquired decommissioned Metro buses now for sale.

Interesting to note he has 2 articulated buses "in well maintained condition". I always thought they sold 705 and 711, but 711 had a stuffed motor?

Also there was a Comair Bedford for sale in Burnie, on Gumtree.

cheers.

Well, today is the 1st "official" day of the BIKE RACK trials  Duties affected, will now accomodate bike-rack buses, allowing the use (if needed) on the specific routes. 10 buses have been fitted: 320 > 329, with some having advertising on the rear to advertise the service. Strangely enough, some duties state: Take bikerack bus, HOWEVER DO NOT have a bikerack run on them, whilst other duties (particularly weekdays) will have drivers swapping and changing to accomodate the "special" bus on a specific route. As usual, well thought out. Relying on the computer to solve problems that should be solved by COMMON SENSE. I personally hope the trial is a complete FAILURE, as many have alluded, a complete waste of time/$$$ AND if you have a bike . . . RIDE the bloody thing :!: :!: BUT time will tell  Will be interesting to see if the di#k who's idea this originated from (Mr Mc), will ACTUALLY use the service. Oh sorry, he's a pollie. He and ALL others DON'T use public transport.

Lets hope its a complete failure . Talk about wasting money, how much will this trial cost in the end just to provide something to a hand full who will use it if at all :?: More late running more so if this contraption jams up causing frustration to passengers and drivers
