Tasmanian Bus Observations June 2012
Tasmanian Bus Observations June 2012
I'm surrounded by Ryans buses at the moment...in Essendon.
I was gonna say that thing was probably Robbie's Irizar...but it could be one I McDermott's down from
The north.

Yes it looked very much to me an IRIZAR and thanks it's just heard bus drivers got stabbed, there were rocks thrown at the windows and all. But thanks for the advice.
Cheers

Yeah, couple of mates were coming over for two days, hiring an XR6 and going out to see the Ford Discovery Centre before it closes next month.
Only cost me the airfares and 1/3 of the motel room and I tagged along, had a razz in an XR6, got to see Melbourne for the first time in 25 years since I was a kid and got out f Tassie or the first time in 19....
Yes, I think a tour might be a good excuse to fly up again....
At the airport now flying home.
Can't believe how many different buses and trams there are....

Who cares what others think anyway? Go ahead and take some pics, it'd be good to see them!
Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations June 2012
I remember I was always a bit self conscious about photographing buses (much more so than trains) and that was years ago. Not sure if the "transport photographer must be a terrorist" mania is as pervasive with buses as it is with rail, but just in case, I would make sure of the following:
a] Be discreet! Do not (or try not to look like you are ) focussing on passengers;
b] Be inconspicuous! Keep out of the way of passengers, pedestrians (not to mention cars and buses!);
c] If a passenger or driver starts looking at you funny (especially aggro) stop and move on!
d] If someone questions you, simply state you are only interested in the bus, not the people!
e] If kids are around BE VERY CAREFUL!!
Actually, today, phones are a lot easier to use than cameras, as they are more discreet and everyone uses them on everything everywhere!

#244 took me home tonight and like a few of its fellow L94UBs, it made a trumpeting sound similar to that of a less than satisfied elephant, upon reaching the peak of any hill/engine revving.
I'm assuming that something is broken, but what?

#244 is the newest NCBC and I've never had a problem with it. By my username you could prob tell that L94UB's are my favourite
