Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations May 2012
It's actually the only choice Metro would have had - either that or cancel the service. It is illegal to collect money for a fare without issuing a valid ticket.
Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations May 2012
Happens all the time. Normally it's just a paper roll inserted incorrectly or the system fails to boot up/shut down correctly (fuse has to be pulled).
Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations May 2012
207 looks set to return north after the special K treatment, ex 513 looks close to completion for its new operator.

Yes, well done young Isaac. 1st coach AND the last, owned by same person, who was the Tasmanian co-ordinator for the tour. Many thanks to ALL the participants from Clipper Club of Australia for taking the time & effort to bring these magnificent vehicles across the strait for us "Taswegians" to enjoy. They are STILL the talk of the town
On another side note: #209 (NCBC Scania) is down from Launceston getting bodywok re-enforcement work done too. Also ex #513 (now Cresswell Coaches) is all but finished, and must be VERY CLOSE to going in service. Painted the SAME as ex Ryans #33, now IN SERVICE with Cresswell.

On a side note Neil, when I was chatting to the couple with their clipper at the TT terminal they mentioned that most in the convoy through Sorell didnt know what was going on with all those people with cameras.

Beat me to it about #209Tas Bus Nut wrote:On another side note: #209 (NCBC Scania) is down from Launceston getting bodywok re-enforcement work done too. With MAN 513 almost done, the next to be done won't be too far off... there are NO MAN's left at Bridgewater. The only graveyard vehicle remaining is now #109.
122, 125, 510, 506, 503, 504 and 501 are all at Springfield.

Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations May 2012
As mentioned earlier, I had #164 today (VOVII), HOWEVER, I noticed some screws/riverts or whatever ABOVE the destination area (photo attached).
Can anyone advise what they are for Perhaps Metro Man (if he ever gets back on the forum) I have NEVER noticed them on ANY bus before.

Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations May 2012
The only things that comes to mind are:
1 - repair job
2 - holding some cabling inside the desto box
3 - Mornington used to have hooks to hang some sheets over the windscreens to stop them icing over. They were normally just below the desto, not above....

Additional services to Woodbridge have been announced as a 12 month trial. This comes on top of extra services to Dodges Ferry that commenced last month. More info in Timetable news.
