Not all vehicles have been done yet... noticed 221 past my place, 23something and a few 300's. Probably route #38.Tas Bus Nut wrote:That was the compromise. Bet it looks f........STUPID. Just came home on 302 and 236 but these haven't been done.

Can't say I am a fan of that. . . . . how do intending passengers know that the bus they hoped to board is the full bus going past them?? They remain at the stop not knowing their bus has sailed on. For mine it is only of value on high frequency services on inbound common routes (eg Main Road).yoda wrote: Nice to see on the list the "Bus Full" option too

Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations March 2011.
The route number remains.
I can only see it being used on Main Road services.

Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations March 2011.
000 STANDBY BUS. It's a bloody wonder the d...........ds didn't put 000 RAIL BUS. Copying everything else from Sydney. I might suggest we change the desto # BACK to the left as well. That way they can f..... the WHOLE system up. I WILL admit it does look a bit NEATER than what we had, but legibility is worse than FULL USE of the desto. AS USUAL, we only drive the bloody things. WE don't know what we are talking about. We don't know what passengers always ask/complain about. We are but mere di.......dsmetro_tas wrote:yes I have the revised electronic desto codes, for example new destos are, 000 STANDBY BUS, 000 NOT IN SERVICE, HOBART CITY, GLENORCHY MALL, SHORLINE and CLARENCE STREE are so of the new varients

If it is a Sydney style desto it is a wonder they never use Burwood to Rookwood cemetery via Strathfield - that would get the Hobart punters going.

Noticed a route #27 desto today on a Metro CB60. It read "Glenorchy Mall via Lenah Valley".

Reads Glenorchy MALL on ANYTHING that goes through Glenorchy. Stupidest thing is an INWARD X1 displays HOBART-CITY on top with Metro Express in SMALL print on bottom. BUT it also scrolls through the top CLAREMONT, GLENORCHY MALL, so when it gets to Springfield (like I saw today) it says CLAREMONT METRO EXPRESS, HOWEVER it's heading to TOWN. HOW F.... DUMB IS THAT. OH THAT'S RIGHT. WE'RE WRONG, THEY'RE RIGHT

Based on Neil's previous posts, I have come to the conclusion that he is not happy about the new destos

Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations March 2011.
Well, when you look at some of the comments on the NSW section, even their drivers reckon their destinations are stupid and bloody useless the way they are designed and the destinations they say. WELL OURS ARE NOW THE SAME DESIGN AS SYDNEY (except route # on OS instead of NS) Amazing, 20-30yrs ago Metropolitan Transport Trust were LEADERS in some of their ideas and designs (1st kneeling bus in OZ) NOW we are bloody followers. 14.5m PERFECT example. Now going back to artics. NO VISION

I think someone is a little bit pi~~ed off not only at the destos but at the twits that sit behind their desk at Metro main office for introducing the stupid things.

Have observed over the past day or two wandering the streets that the new side destos have the route # as well. Eg 5 West Hobart.

Yep, I think our 90 (City - Trevallyn - Riverside - then via West Tamar Highway back into the City) is one that comes up wrong. The desto for the return actually says City via Trevallyn when it has JUST come from there.Cole wrote:I heard that they have got some wrong in Launceston
Also, I don't like the NOT IN SERVICE having numbers to the left of it. What was wrong with a plain NOT IN SERVICE? To make it worse I think the numbers to the left are 000, so at quick glance it resembles the Attack Alert desto that comes up? I think that's what comes up anyway....not that we'd need to use it in our crime-free city.
I didn't notice a SORRY, BUS FULL desto either.

Haha, I was waiting for that one. It would get used through Mowbray a bit, and just when we don't feel like stopping.

^For sure. Love it. We could also have a range of similar ones depending on the PAX. Maybe a "nice day, the walk would do you good" one.

Hi Jase. Try putting a (5) in front of the desto. That's what we have to do in Hobart. ie: Rte.10 is 0100 (I assume) substitute it as 5100 and see how you go. R U coming on our tourLauncestonian wrote:I didn't notice a SORRY, BUS FULL desto either.
