Private Observations 2019
Re: Private Observations 2019
What a rare sight, went for a drive down at the Royal National Park and spotted Transit System’s 2842 near the toilets at Audley. Since it was a Saturday, I assume it wasn’t chartered for any school trips.

The Transit Systems Gemilangs have become more common on the Metrobus routes that they run, such as the M10, M20, M30, M41, M50.idontknow556 wrote:Possible rare sight - Scania K310UB/Gemiliang on M30
Personally I dont think they should be on Metrobus routes, but I suppose that is just me.

Waiting at Eddy Ave on Friday afternoon, I saw 3 Gemilangs in a row on the 440 to BJI, and a 4th a few buses later

Can't comment re the buses but spotted an Irizar coach at Penrith in CDC Travel markings; while at Katoomba the Coach Design Mercedes is in CDC Tours markings.gilberations wrote:Has anyone heard anything in the CDC company rebranding? Is it still happening?
So there appears to be some change happening with the all white coaches. Haven't had the opportunity for a photo yet.
Think for yourself, while it's still legal !

Re: Private Observations 2019
Those things actually scare me now. I was on one late night 470 going back to the City, and whenever the driver opened the front door, the horn would blare out for five seconds every single time. It’s stupidly loud, are they trying to deafen people? Driver said I’m sorry I don’t know why the bus is doing that.Transport Buff wrote:The Transit Systems Gemilangs have become more common on the Metrobus routes that they run, such as the M10, M20, M30, M41, M50.idontknow556 wrote:Possible rare sight - Scania K310UB/Gemiliang on M30

Anyways driver had to call it quits and end the run halfway through after radio contact when we got to too many pax (some of whom were getting visibly irritated + too unbearable)

It wouldn’t be a new Gemilang if it wasn’t for rampant electrical problems.

Has 2464 been moved to Leichhardt? I saw it running a service on route 433
Re: Private Observations 2019
^ This is due to the recent transfer of buses between K, L & T on 30th of Jan.
K now help out L with operating the following routes: 389, 431, 433, L37, 438, L38, 439, L39, 441, 442 & 445.
L now only operate a handful of 530 services Mon-Fri, B operate almost all trips with K operating 2 x trips. Since the Dec 2 timetable changes, B operates all 530 services on Sst & Sun.

I saw a T bus operate 526 the other day. Is T really venturing out that far into the corners of the Region 6 territory?Stu wrote:^ This is due to the recent transfer of buses between K, L & T on 30th of Jan.

Depends which T bus. Some are on loan to B to cover a shortfall of buses at the moment.

Being a Heatherbrae bus, what's so surprising about that?

How long has Hanbury St been in Waratah?

Well yeah but It's the first I've seen one of their CB80's down here, I have no idea what their intended use is for at the moment and I have seen their Enduras getting around but was yet to see their CB80 running around.Xplorer wrote:Being a Heatherbrae bus, what's so surprising about that?
An Error on my part, I got off at Waratah Station and thought it was actually still classed as Waratah but it is actually Mayfield, that error is on me. I don't go to Waratah much so I didn't realise where the Mayfield / Waratah boundary started.LB608 wrote:How long has Hanbury St been in Waratah?

They have something like 5 of them, to be used on 150/151/152 some time in the futureScaniaGrenda wrote:Well yeah but It's the first I've seen one of their CB80's down here, I have no idea what their intended use is for at the moment and I have seen their Enduras getting around but was yet to see their CB80 running around.Xplorer wrote:Being a Heatherbrae bus, what's so surprising about that?

Re: Private Observations 2019
Saw 3616 MO today around 12PM with the destination set to "181 Metford Tafe" instead of "181 Woodberry". Interesting that this destination code is used during the day, usually it's reserved for the very last 181 of the night that terminates at the TAFE instead of going to Woodberry.
Hunter Valley Buses route 183 also has a destination code for "Stockland Greenhills" all on one line (Displays as 183 Stockland Greenhills), instead of Tenambit or Rutherford and no it doesn't terminate at Greenhills, it still continues onto Tenambit. But I assume with the Mobitech ICU 400 you can have a destination and then give it any route number you like unless that's not how it works?
Very rare to see an Volgren Optimus operate down here on the 181, 182 or 183 routes but I saw 7333 MO operating a 183 route to Rutherford today as well.

Re: Private Observations 2019
all destos are set with destination and route numbered combined, you can't just select one half from something and another half from something else. 181/182/183 have multiple destos for each route, to reflect the need for multiple terminii during various times of the day, some used a lot more than others

RE - Forest Coaches new timetable, changes to accessible services
Well this is quite strange really, I was coming back from Frenchs Forest tonight to the City on a 270 or 271 (forgot which) and sure enough it was an old high floor Volvo (with the slide open windows). At 9pm too, you usually don’t see those old things anymore outside of weekday peak hours, let alone later into the evening.
Not complaining at all however - a lot of character compared to the usual drab CB80, and it’s amazing how much I could see outside as the window wasn’t tinted plus the lighting was soft. Tinted windows should go in my opinion, they don’t serve any true purpose besides making a bus look more like a space shuttle
