And how right it was. Completely inadequate bus capacity, people left stranded, big upsurge in driving as people parked and rode at railway stations, buses gridlocked in traffic (including gridlock caused by buses), buses took 20 minutes or more longer to cross the bridge than the trams because of the congestion etc. And yet they kept doing the tram closures in the following years and now look what it takes to reinstate one tram line. Labor has the gall to criticise that.

It was a post war crime. I'd love to find the graves of the decision makers and pour diesel over them.
Social people are nearly always horrible people. Why would you mix with horrible people?

Aged 14, I was on the last tram (coupled set of O's) across the Harbour Bridge to Lane Cove, then to North Sydney Depot. It was a fairly chaotic ride, with the power being turned off while the tram was still in tunnel, then the police insisting that the tram have a working headlight before it left Lane Cove. I was with my mate and his Dad.
