And why haven't even main stations including Wickham Interchange got any train timetables for the 30th September, even though it's only just over a week away?
White lives matter too.

Was there actually a fire? The Transport NSW website lists it as “reports of smoke” which seems to suggest it was a false alarm?sunnyyan wrote:Fatality at Burwood today causing some delays.
Also fire in tunnel at Edgecliff https://www.news.com.au/national/nsw-ac ... 54ed1dcf0b
No closures now, however SCO trains are terminating at Central.
Re: NSW Railway Observations - July to December 2018
Noticed a tangara with 2 ex-G set carriages and 2 normal T-set carriages, didn't catch the numbers though

Have any Tangaras transferred between depots as T30 is showing both red and black plates
Re: NSW Railway Observations - July to December 2018
Spotted an 8M running a T1 service from Richmond to North Sydney this morning, i know it’s not unusual seeing them as far at Blacktown/Schofields but mot usually rostered to T1 services.

That is half of T14 and G121, it came back from Auburn like that. I saw it doing a Bondi Junction service with T122.Frodo wrote:Noticed a tangara with 2 ex-G set carriages and 2 normal T-set carriages, didn't catch the numbers though

Richmond departures 0735, 1135, 1535, 1935 (Saturday only), 1935 (Sunday only to Campbelltown and return), 2335 to Campbelltown and Finish.

Currently, Tangaras are interchangeable between Hornsby MC and Mortdale MC due to the various upgrades being carried out on this set type.Stonesourscotty wrote:Have any Tangaras transferred between depots as T30 is showing both red and black plates
T34 was a similar case to T30. May have attempted to freshen up a worn Plate at Hornsby with the black.

Campbelltown/Macarthur trains are diverting express via Strathfield & Regents Park this weekend due to trackwork. It's funny seeing "T3 Campbelltown" showing on the platform indicators.
Looks like the trackwork is also causing some congestion delays around Central.

It is interesting seeing 6tph between Turella & City via Airport impressed they managed to get that frequency over the usual 4tph when trains have turnaround at Turella/ Wolli Creek. Also Turella being open to customers unlike normal where train are emptied out at Wolli during trackwork.

Gigantic mess tonight trying to get back from the NRL and once again there is zero communication about the massive service disruptions.
Either everyone's just completely given up and gone home, or there's a complete lack of transparency, maybe even a cover up, on how bad it is tonight.
Some lines have not had a train in over an hour, but the official message from hours earlier is still being repeated: "delays to some services - frequent services are operating".
Why can't they just tell people there's major delays and mass cancellations so they can organise another way to get home? Instead we get given this false hope that "frequent services are running" - ok cool so it sounds like everything's mostly ok and then we sit on the platform at Central for over 90 minutes waiting for a train that never comes.

Seems this has crossed over tothis morning with the T1 line seeing delays to services.andy_centralcoast wrote:Gigantic mess tonight trying to get back from the NRL and once again there is zero communication about the massive service disruptions.

The real time info and indicator boards are also not available as there is “currently an IT issue”.

After months of lobbying by fed-up commuters, Andrew Constance issued a statement Thursday evening confirming the overcrowded 3:24pm and 3:54pm service from Central to the South Coast will be converted from four carriages to eight, from January 2019.

Re: NSW Railway Observations - July to December 2018
This is the third time this year that one of the last services to run at a frequency <15min during the peak hour period has been cancelled. This is the first time I've seen two trains cancelled in a row
The flow on effects were devastating and luckily I did not catch the 7:56, but rather the 8:06, as some people at Holsworthy, East Hills, Panania had no choice but to wait for the 8:21 because it was simply too packed. This clearly exemplifies that the service frequency between 8:00 to 9:00, the last hour of the AM peak on the T8 line is a joke, why are we even paying for peak hour services for an off peak frequency and limited stopping patterns?

The Limited stopping patterns were the idea of the powers that be, to simplify things for commuters (ie they could just remember what train stopped where by what the previous one did)
As for the frequency, supposedly that all comes off the Opal Stats, so seems to be a few fare evaders down that way.

What shocks me more is that the T8 twitter just stayed silent, ignored everyone and pretended it wasn’t happening.boxythingy wrote:This is the third time this year that one of the last services to run at a frequency <15min during the peak hour period has been cancelled. Saw an A set in Chatswod this afternoon displaying "HORNSBY VIA ROOSTERS EXPRESS" on the desto screens.
ST claims they can't program proper destinations into these screens, but can manage to make up meaningless frivolous information.

Those destinations are manually input by the driver/guard. Normally, the train gets the destination from a database.boronia wrote:Saw an A set in Chatswod this afternoon displaying "HORNSBY VIA ROOSTERS EXPRESS" on the desto screens.
