Anyone know where the m30 is terminating at the moment in Sydenham?

Transport Info shows routes 78 and 80 as being jointly operated by Busways and Hunter Valley.
For the other two jointly operated routes 91 and 98 there has been a problem in transport Info with separate timetables for the two operators. The Busways one for route 98 is now missing while the Coastal Liner one has been changed to Hunter Valley. There are still two route 91 timetables for Busways and Hunter Valley.

Very strange purchase , I wonder if a big sydney coach mob is in the running for the coach side.

Not sure what you mean. The entire operation was purchased by CDC.

Did the STA ever use arctics on services that start on the Geeves Avenue side of Rockdale station if not then it's something Transit Systems started doing after taking over region 6

Yes we've already established that its a K series, not an N series.

I caught an M20 today with a driver from Perth and made the mistake of asking what he thought of the traffic! He was actually coping pretty well.

I’m not sure if this happens at STA but yesterday I was on a Kogarah bound 422 yesterday morning there was a driver changeover across the road from the Transit Systems Tempe depot the driver swapped over with what looked like a driver trainer and a trainee does the STA do active route driver training or is this something that came into region 6 when Transit Systems took over

There's some terrible traffic in Perth too so he should be used to it. Those mad sandgropers will still sit in gridlocked traffic even when there's trains rocketing past them at 130 km/h

I suppose next we'll read that TSA has a driver shortage in Perth!

Are these TSA drivers from interstate & overseas on some sort of short-term loan/contract or are they permanently based in Sydney. One must wonder surely the pay TSA are offering in Sydney is far superior to Perth considering the higher costs of living in Sydney vs Perth or like Adelaide.

STA have been doing this for a very long time, TSA are continuing on with this since late July with a very similar format with the more recent intake of new drivers. Prior to July TSA had been training many drivers with a different type of training program so that the first intake of new drivers would be ready for the July 1st commencement of operations.

Here's a question about timetables.

Today I travelled by bus from Gordon to Mona Vale , and back. The first trip was one of those buses with the gotham arches, which had square wheels or something, it was shaking itself to pieces.

For the trip returning, I took the last bus from Mona Vale at 7:55 which goes only as far as Terry Hills. I then waited 35 minutes for the next bus to ??, which was the same bus with the same driver.

Anyway, here's the question. The trip planner appears to say that the 20:45 departure from Terry Hills will go all the way to Gordon. However, the PDF timetable which I downloaded appears to indicate that the 20:45 from Terry Hills goes only to St Ives, and it would be necessary to change to a 195 from North St Ives, allegedly scheduled 1 minute later, to get all the way to Gordon. At least, that's how it appears to me.

The bus from Terry Hill did go to Gordon ( with 4 passengers ), and a 195 with zero passengers apparently arrived at Gordon 2 minutes later.

So am I reading the timetable correctly ? It's on the second last page, Sunday schedule, the 20:45 service from Terry Hills has no arrival time at Gordon. How would you interpret this in the timetable ?

It would a bit of a worry if this 1 minute transfer didn't work, because it is the last bus.

On the 440 tonight, came across something completely new by pure chance, 5050 Scania K320UB Volgren Optimus. An ex-demonstrator bus for Transdev I read.. Nice enough that it’s now found its way for a second life in Inner Sydney. The back has advertising (from Scania themselves?) boasting about the Euro 6 engine inside the bus. Engine sounds unusually soft for a Scania :D

I've only seen 5050 on the 431/3 and 440 and almost always seems to get out on Sundays what was it showing on that screen?? is it similar to the Busways buses screens that show next stop information?

There should be some new Scania Gemilang bodied units on the road this week. 7083 - 7087 are in the final stages of preparedness for in service operation.

Out of curiosity, what have these new units replaced? (I.e. What has been retired to make way for these?)

Nothing as yet. Some Region 6 buses on loan to L have returned other TSA depots. There are still a few ex Smithfield ex WSB B12s on loan as well to Region 6 to cover the shortfall. Spares are quite low and there are numerous buses off the road having accident damage repaired.

Looks like the Forest Coachlines PDFs are out of date. The direct data upload to Transport Info shows the 196 trip going to Gordon, and the 195 trip being the second part of the loop trip.
