I've caught buses from DFO a few times, and IIRC the two services ran close together, then a long gap. So the first bus gets packed, and hardly anyone in the next.

^ pure unadulterated efficient service, NSW style.
The NSW Government are a four yearly dictatorial regime.
Abolish route 265 today. It attracts weird attention seekers when it's not carrying pure air.

Additional route 526 services working the same format will also be in operation on Boxing Day as well.

Did STA do this before?

Yes, X25 services Boxing Day 2017. There was a new destination created for DFO services although all trips were scheduled to operate in its entirety between Strathfield and Sydney Olympic Park. This year 526 shuttles are scheduled to operate to and from DFO although I am unsure if a new destination was created.

Where do they drop off and pick up? From memory, it seemed like a very private car oriented place and can't recall seeing anywhere that buses could pull up.

all trips showed various destinations, mostly with paper signs on the front. what each bus showed depends on how creative each driver was

Many trains are diverted to Olympic Park due to trackwork. I think it is more reasonable to extend the extra services to Olympic Park station.

THere is only one station on that line. Olympic Park Station. You can't "extend" services there.

And DFO is a fair way from OP Station, you will still need to catch a bus there.

A woman has died after a head-on crash between a bus and the car she was driving in Sydney's west.

Emergency services were called to Feodore Drive near Burlina Circuit in Cecil Hills about 5.30pm on Wednesday, to reports of a head-on collision between a bus and car.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, a woman aged in her 50s, died at the scene.

The bus in question was a Liverpool-bound 827 but it had no passengers on board at the time of the crash.

The 42-year-old bus driver sustained a minor hand injury and was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

No photo in this article, but noticed a comment elsewhere that she appeared to have run into the back of the bus.
