New timetables from 29/01/2018
It seems a few operators are updating their timetables on 29/01/2018, not just CDC Hunter Valley Buses.
The other three I've found are CDC Hillsbus, Blue Mountain Transit and Busways Western Sydney
Haven't found the new timetable for 130 between Port Stephens and Newcastle yet, even though transportnsw.info advertised that this route will have a changed timetable from 29th too.

Re: New timetables from 29/01/2018
All Metropolitan and outer Metropolitan bus timetables are being uploaded for the new school term - the current timetables only cover school holiday trips.
Transport info only mentions new Newcastle timetables for Port Stephens and Hunter Valley and not Newcastle Transport. However Newcastle Transport will also have to have new timetables uploaded to cover school terms.
This happens at the end and beginning of each school term.
Others that have already uploaded are Busabout, Interline, Red Bus, Premier Illawarra, Coastal Liner, Dions, Premier Charters, Punchbowl Bus Co, Busways Central Coast, Transdev North, State Transit.
Still awaiting Forest Coach Lines who did not upload new timetables at the beginning of the school holidays but uploaded school holiday ones at the beginning of this week when they issued new timetables. Also still awaiting Transdev South

Will be interesting to see if this happens. The existing PDF timetables on transportnsw.info for Newcastle Transport, effective 14 January, already include school term only trips (annotated with trip note 'S'). So maybe new PDFs won't be required?Fleet Lists wrote:However Newcastle Transport will also have to have new timetables uploaded to cover school terms.

Re: New timetables from 29/01/2018
It has nothing to do with the PDF timetables on their website which do not change for any operatot at the beginning or end of school terms. It is purely something on Transport Info where thet are isuing separate timetables for school holidays and terms.
As they are new it may not happen for Newcastle Transport - we will have to wait and see on that.

I didn't say anything about the timetables on their website. I clearly stated "PDF timetables on transportnsw.info" - the ones accessible via the timetable section. If you look at Route 22, for instance, there is a school day only trip, annotated with note S. So this might negate the need for school term timetables to be uploaded.Fleet Lists wrote:It has nothing to do with the PDF timetables on their website which do not change for any operatot at the beginning or end of school terms. Seems like Rover Coaches did more than just extending a few 164s and all 166s to Greenhills, the entire Cessnock City was reorganised, with parts of 165 given to 167, and parts of 167 to 162, plus a new route 161

Other operators also provide timetables with S notations but Transport for NSW still uploads separate school holiday timetables. This is causing quite a few problems with trips not being shown in the right one. I am following that up with them. I would love to see them do away with this upload at the start and end of school holidays.

Putting an S on was good enough for 100 years of printed timetables. This is another example of a so called progressive change actually being rather stupid.

One problem I have found with Newcastle Transport is that the school special services such as 794, have a current timetable Transport Info during the school holidays without any S footnote.

Port Stephens, Newcastle Transport, Transdev South and Forest Coach Lines today have new Transport Info timetables on the same basis but dated 30 January 2018.

In the meantime the more civilised countries like Switzerland, Austria and even FFS Croatia continue to produce valuable and appreciated printed timetables. We, as usual, wallow in e-mediocrity.

Only Hillsbus, State Transit , Interline and Blue Mountains no longer have their own PDF's - all the other operators still do.
